Just got mine in the mail, charging now. Review coming.
If you work somewhere with lots of noise this is the headset for you. Also works pretty well if you're near deaf.
One day a week my work is near concert level volumes. Its so loud I cant feel my phone on vibrate, no chance in hell of hearing the ringer. Hoping this will at least allow me to answer the call and have them hear me.
www.jawbone.com watch the demo, you'll be surprised!

Ive had a jawbone for almost a year, it has its good points and bad.
Good- Pairs really well, works good, volume is great, works well in noisy environments.
Bad- doesnt work worth a damn when there is wind. Even the wind from the AC in the truck blowing on my face will completely ruin it. Its hard to fit to your ear. The over ear pieces are really limited and they break easily, and the ear inserts dont seem to do a whole lot. If you have a small ear you are not going to like it. It is very limited on its controls, has no mute.
Another option is the Blueant Z9. Small, reviews are as good or better than the Jawbone. I have one on the way for a client of mine and will be able to check it out a bit before giving it to him. The one advantage that the Blueant has is it takes a standard mini usb plug, and the jawbone has a goof proprietary plug. The blueant also gets firmware updates and is always being improved, but not so with the jawbone.
That being said, I like my Jawbone and have really had no problems with it.

Um no porn on this one, Im at work. On your link there is a link to a you tube video which is some kind of commercial for the jawbone, a rugby team comes into a bar makes a lot of noise then when the lady gets a phone call two of them start making out. Turned it off then. Just not sure what that was selling.

My Rubi is noisy as hell with windows UP and even with the hard top on. It sucks to try and talk to someone (especially on speaker) even with a headset.
This seems like a pretty good tool in that regard but I always wonder what the limitations are. You never find out thereal world limitations from ads, only from user reviews. So when I buy stuff online I weigh user reviews pretty heavily. And I have found no better site for user reviews of geek stuff than NewEgg.com.
Jawbone Black (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16875998251) - 18 Reviews, 4 Eggs
Jawbone Silver (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16875998252) - 15 Reviews, 4 Eggs
Jawbone Red (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16875998141) - 11 Reviews, 5 Eggs
It has gotten generally very good reviews. Price is $79 on Newegg so DO NOT pay the $120 price from the Jawbone website.

Been reading the user reviews and they are pretty mixed actually. The biggest complaint is the fit of the ear hook. A lot of people said they couldn't make it fit, uncomfortable, and when not fit correctly the sound stinks, etc. Read gripes about poor audio and low volume too. But there were even more good reviews, so who knows. But it seems that fit is the key with this one (well all of them) because that ear hook is pretty different.
Oh and their claim to have the "Highest CNet rating. Ever" is very disingenuous. They have an 8.7 rating from CNet's editors but a decidedly lackluster 5.7 rating from users. In my experience, the CNET editor reviews are one degree away from totally meaningless. I only read them because they at least hit most of the major features of the given product.

I've had the plain jane M or H 800 motorola. Nothing fancy, didnt stand up to out door use.
I have the Palm Ultra Lite headset, hurts ear after a while. Despite its claims, you need ear hook to keep it in while walking. Volume is great if you can get it to fit your ear, bad if you cant. Few complaints from people on the other end typical of all headset type devices.
I have the motorola S9 stereo blue tooth headset. This was never designed to work well making calls, but it can. Works well as a stereo bluetooth. Volume is complete crap, I dont know if thats my Treo not pushing it hard enough or the headset itself. Its fine for the gym, worthless with any back ground noise. Music clarity isnt good, but its a bluetooth 2.0 headset, and my phone is 1.0. Could be a whole different animal with 2.0
2 hours and Jawbone is still charging!

First impressions.
Its bulky, very bulky compared to Palm Ultra Lite. Fit is strange or just new.
Noise canceling is working, but not what I expected. This was done in my office with music coming from CPU speakers.
Road test here in a few when leave work. Of course i wont be back online for a while after that to post results.
So far its nice an loud even for me and my treo. Bulky, noise cancellation works but not as impressive as I'd hoped.

I had a high-end Sony headset. The earhook on that thing was one-size-fits-none plastic and Terrible with a cap T. It wouldn't fit my wife's ear at all (I haven't found an earhook yet that will). It hurt like hell after a few minutes slowly chewed away my ear. The speaker didn't align with my ear at all and the volume sucked ballz. And to top it all off, the POS couldn't even survive a simple trip though my washing machine! :D
So I'm in the market for a good BT headset. This one looks promising, especially given that I'd use it in my Jeep which is super noisy. No BT headset will ever be perfect (mostly because our standards keep rising) but I'm looking for something that works in most criteria. This could be the one that does that.
But I don't get the "jawbone" reference. Does this thing somehow transmit or receive vibrations via the base of the skull or does it use Active Noise Reduction (cancelling noise by playing it back 180 deg out of phase)? Their website is amazingly short on the details.

My PlanTronics 510 or whatever works pretty well for me. None of the "on-ear" ones worked for shit, but this one's in ear and does a good job. Stays in place too. And the boom mic makes it a bit easier on the person on the other end.

Noise cancellation in general (if it's using ANR/ANC) is not really designed to block out music or specific sounds. It blocks "background noise" - the closer to white noise the better. It does this by playing back the "noise" but playing it 180 degrees out of phase and that causes the two sounds essentially to add to zero (or near zero). The reason it doesn't work well with music is because music changes frequency a lot so playing back 180 deg out of phase doesn't really add to zero - if anything it probably just blots out some frequencies in the music.
My bet is that you'll get much better results canceling road/wind/crowd noise (close to white noise) with this but less success with clear music (not overlaid by white noise as in the demo) or individual spoken voices. That's just the nature of ANR.

In ear ones bug the crap out of me. I had an in-ear Jabra wired model back in the day and it suuu-hucked. Very uncomfortable to wear an earplug-style unless it is literally custom fit.
(Plus I'm deaf in my left ear so it's kinda nice not to have to wear a permanent earplug in my one good ear).

I'd have to agree. but of the three girls I called on my way home none of them complained about the music i was intentionally playing loud.
Does it work? like a champ. Very impressed and loud enough for my deaf ears to hear what I need.
Does it work well enough for my concert level volumes on Tuesday, we'll see. noise cancellation works great but to a point.

Ive got one of the motorola H700's and been looking to replace it so this might be a good option. Id like to see them in person before i bought one though...are there any local stores that carry them or are they an online only thing??
