Just curious if anybody on here has ever had to get OC Spray? (aka pepper spray) I had to do it today to get certified to carry it for the Navy. I gotta tell ya that stuff sucks. I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy. Well, I guess I would since I would have to use it on an attacker. Anyway, just curious if anybody has had to do it AND if you know of anyway to get the dang burn to go away.

Had to get it done to me in the Police academy. Sucks is right. 3 days later I could still feel the effects of it.

To mitigate the effects. go out, and eat the hotest wings you can find, drink a bunch of beer, and the next morning you wont be worried about your eyes burning anymore. :D

Many times. Several Police academies and re-certification classes.

Makes a good substitute for Tobasco on food.

That's exactly what I was thinking of doing. Except for the fact I gotta be on the ship at 0600 tomorrow. Don't think it would be very good for the boss to come in drunk. But it's one heck of a thought.

sprayed some out of a moving car once, blew right back into my face... got the driver a bit too, we pulled over. Wow though, good stuff.

That's what the guy who sprayed me said. I thought he was full of it till he used the same can that he sprayed us with to spray on his taco for lunch.

This is the only pic I took. It was with my cell. Looks like I'm sleeping, but I actually can't open my eyes and my face feels like the devil pi$$ed on it.

A gal i dated for a short time was a police officer. she could take a shot right in the face and only have the slightest irritation from it.

She said it was funny to watch a 300 lbs man drop to his knees and cry like a baby and she could continue and complete the activity.

I guess a small percentage of people a not affected by the chemical.

Well the reason we were sprayed with it was, to prove to us you can function after being hit by it. In fact we went thru a weapon retention exercise after getting a blast. Only after we proved we retained our weapon were we allowed to go try to wash it off.

CS gas in military makes Pepper spray look like kids perfume.

I did it when I worked in LE. It was a controlled situation whereby I just smeared some under my eyes.

Made for lovely burning red marks.

Pepper spray doesn't do much for me. Just a little annoying. Cs is very annoying but once out of it not a big deal and goes away fast. For me anyway but I'm one of the small percentage.

Grabbed one of my mother's friend keychains, and it had this case on it.....I thought it was binacca and low and behold I couldn't see and it burned like the dickens. It was not binacca and thank got i have piss poor aim as I missed my mouth completely. It took most of day to get rid of the burning. vision returned with in 20-30 minute if i remember right. :bounce3:

I did this, too, only I was 28 and it was Rockcrawlin TJ's. :)

I got OC sprayed for real once in college when cops came and broke up a massive party we were having (they were of the mindset to call it a "riot" or something)... this is the house where we had deadbolts on the individual bedroom doors. :)

Tear Gas is MUCH more painful. Have been hit with one of those "pepper spray" balls courtesy of the LAPD. Hurts like a sonofabitch.

Well OC works much better than tear gas on people that are high on PCP specifically and other special cirumstances where the person who is being sprayed no longer feels pain. It also stick around a lot long because its oil based in fact Im sure Mygreenjeep is still feeling the effects of it today.

So I'm not sure where all the tear gas is worse comments are coming from.

Why doesn't that surprise me!!! :flipoff2:

When I was a Deputy, I was like a magnet for the shat!! The psychological effects are worse than the OC. Once I figured out that it just made me :crybaby: and blow snot bubbles for an hour. I was good.

LAPD Riot Control, Lakers Championship 2001, 8th street "gathering".

Walking through 3 blocks of it, hurts like hell, for me anyway. But I suffer from MAJOR sinus issues.
