Now this is just unacceptable gun handling in a very unforgiving environment. I'd like to hear how it "went off".

Looks like those guys should be restricted to DA only with about 15 pounds of pull.

Or paint ball guns! Actually, this is the first incident since the program was started after 9/11, so the pilots have been very repsonsible with the firearms up until now. I still can't figure out how this happened as the HK USPc that they are issued are very safe, but not moron proof like any gun. Its got a safety, plus its double action. Unless he had it cocked and unlocked.

Unless he had it cocked and unlocked.

Even then, he would have had to have been playing with it. You can't bump one of those things hard enough to make them go off without input to the trigger.

Some of us gun nuts are already talking about it in the Firing Range...

Knew I'd seen it somewhere on the board here but, couldn't remember where.

Proof positive that shooting a hole in the side of a pressurized plane won't create suction powerful enough to turn you into a mile long spaghetti noodle.

The monkey is terribly dissapointed that someone else got to test this first. I calmed him down by letting him know that other than in the movies, nobody has tested it on a space ship. He's looking up NASA's phone number now.

Damn, I've been on this board for years and didn't even know that area existed! Duh!

We kinda figured there would be anti-gunners all over this story. Is there some risk to letting pilots carry guns on planes, Yes. But we also know what can happen when they have no way to defend themselves. Its one incident in how many thousands of flights since the program was put in place???

That said I do wish he was more careful.

Wonder if he was from Missouri?
