I mean really? I called them a couple of months ago and got a chickenshit excuse that "because of the economy" they were unable to get the Jan/Feb issue out. And that they had sent an issue for march to the printer and that they would also have an april issue. But I'm still waiting, what happened? Has anyone else talked to them?

Almost kinda glad I let my subscription lapse. Now at least I don't feel like I paid for something I didn't get. I'll probably renew here before too long - it really is a great magazine, imo.

Off to go find my two copies of XOM. :D (yeah, I got 'em both.)

I asked when they would be coming on pirate, the response I got was that Santa Claus would be bringing them. That came straight from Tim the "ceo". I think the whole company is a joke, they blame it on paper shortages, odd that all the other magazines I subscribe to have been coming on time all year.

I think they are going the way of XOM.

From Pirate posted yesterday

Hey guys. Issue 14 has shipped, I swear to you. We got our first pallet in Moab on the 17th and we handed out something like 1200 copies at EJS. At the same time, we just received our other pallet in Gig Harbor today. We shipped 17 pallets total so I assume the store copies have been delivered to the distributors and are being routed out to store chains now. The mailing copies (subscribers) shipped and labeled on the 9th and I know several people who got theirs yesterday and today. I haven't gotten my test copy yet at my home address. They ship out of Michigan so I should get mine the same week the California folks get theres.

Issue 15 is in press and will ship the week of April 10th. This will put us back on track for the year (two issues out in the first 4 months) and all of our delays should be behind us. Stick with us here and we'll get you your magazines. We appreciate the business and your understanding while we deal with a pretty rough economy. Anyone who thinks that is an excuse need only turn on CNN and see the entire country going down the drain. Really, we're doing the best we can.

I am at the office for another hour tonight, call me at 253-857-2729 if you think your copy is lost or you have questions. You can speak to me directly and I will do my best to solve any and all problems. otherwise, I'll be editing issue 16. Thanks. -tim.

Guess I should cancel my subscription and save my money since the whole economy is going in the tank. Off to watch CNN and hide in a shelter to protect myself from the sky falling on me....

I never even bothered to get a subscription after they faltered right at the beginning, they've yet to get it turned around. And frankly any info I could get out of the magazine I can find online somewhere.

I know a lot of people have complained about Crawl, but I signed up right at the start, and have received every single issue ever published in a timely manner.

I would guess that for every pissed off non-receiver, there are numerous people (like myself) that HAVE received the mag, and thoroughly enjoy it.

Happy people don't complain though.

Cole and I were discussing the economy on Monday. He made comment on a news report he heard that touted how bad it really was and that 40% of the countries economists believed we were in a recession.

Like we discussed, what do the other 60% believe? Must be awfully bad if 40% say so :spit:

As for Crawl, I believe I paid for a subscription and have never recieved a copy. The same thing happend with XOM but, oh well, not like when the bank loses my IRA's or anything. At least I am only out $20 or so dollars on these.

So, maybe you paid for one? And maybe you didn't?

It doesn't matter what the economy is doing If you offer a product, then someone pays for said product, then you deliver said product. I own a small business so I'm calling BS. But next time I make a mistake I'll be sure and let the home owner know if they don't like it, they can just watch CNN.

We haven't gotten one in 2008 yet either. I managed to pick up Issue 14 at EJS.

I guess that was my whole point. If you pay for a service, I am understanding enough wait, but don't make up excuses. If they are too stupid to "recession proof" their business, that is their fault so tell it like it is. Don't play the blame game because if they haven't figured it out yet, the public is pretty dern smart. I know that I won't renew my subscription when it comes up.

Besides the so called economy in the tanker, what else is there to complain about?:flipoff2:

Any body. It is not meant as an insult etc.. If the mag. is that good (which I have never read it so I know nothing about it) but is tanking due to bad management, look into buying it and turning it around. Not a far fetched Idea.

It's not the fact that it's late. It's the fact that they keep telling us it's shipped yesterday. A normal guy on pirate would have been hunted down and castrated by now for pulling that crap. Maybe they donated heavily to the donahoe defense fund.
