I don't know the laws, but some compensation seems fair. There are certain risks and inconveniences associated with laying pipe through someones land.

If ever there was a good reason to use eminent domain to justify taking someones land, I think a huge environmental disaster would be one. :shrug:

I say don't build it. Then when the thing blows and floods, killing a lot of people, the victims can come back n sue 'em and the press can have a field day with the Olsens.
If it was my land and I knew that doing this might save lives someday, I'd do it. Without compensation.
