...some of you moved out of Missouri. You're not stupid enough to live there.

Man Shooting Hole Through Wall Kills Wife (http://www.kctv5.com/news/15698864/detail.html)

DEEPWATER, Mo. -- Officials are trying to decide whether to file charges against a Missouri man who fatally shot his wife while trying to install a satellite TV system in their home.

Patsy Long, 34, of Deepwater, died after being shot in the chest with a .22-caliber handgun on Saturday. Her husband, Ronald Long, fired the shot from the inside of their home after several unsuccessful efforts to punch a hole through the exterior wall using other means.

I'm guessing a drill would have been the better tool for the job. :silly:

Bah... survival of the fittest. If it only takes a .22LR in the chest to kill you, you shouldn't breed! :D

She had been nagging him since he started that he should have had the professionals just install it. What's $50 these days anyway? When the battery on his cordless drill died she said something that he could hear through the wall. He just couldn't take it anymore and shot. When he missed, she made another comment. The second shot didn't miss.

The kids aren't talking. Frankly, I don't blame them.

Obviously the exterior wall was an immediate threat and he was in fear for his life.

She was a 34 year old carhop at Sonic. Times are tough in MO. How will the family carry on without her financial contribution? Or is there a large insurance policy on her that will cloud his stupid story?

BTW, leaving Mo is not an intellectual issue. It's as simple as the desire to stay below 80 on the 'comfort index' and an aversion to chiggers 'n skeeters. :flipoff2:

I do Miss summer nights at the lake, takin the boat over to The Clown, and chasin chicks around Osage Beach,, Lot of fun livin there as a teenager. X2 on the fishing. Racing at lake hill speedway, which right about now, would be under 20 feet of water, if it still existed. Draggin 20 kegs out under the arch for VP fair. Sittin on the bank of the Merimac, all night long with lanterns, fishin for catfish, and catchin nothin but a buzz. Headin over to the eastside to get booze on sunday. Gateway Nationals. Turkey huntin in areas where the top of every ridgeline was scratched to pieces,, Good cornfed turkey. Big ol whitetail deer huntin. Yeah theres a lot of things I miss about growing up there, but with that said, I would never live there again, Summer is just like Louisiana, and winter might as well be in Minnesota, the worst of both seasons. And yes Virginia, there are some seriously oxygen starved brainiacs running around the state...

There are like 3 off road parks that have opened up South of Springfield in the past few years. One of them is really close to twin Bridges on the North Fork of the White River. We could wheel Sat, and float Sun, or Vice Versa.

Let's go. I will probably run down there the June after I get home for a couple of weeks. I am also going to try like hell to go home for deer season in Nov of 08. That is if the wife will let me out of her sight by then. I will have been home for 6 weeks when season starts, so she should be tired of me by then.

I wouldnt mind doing that, but doubt very much, that I will be able to drag Mongo all the way to Mo. Just dont have the tow rig, or trailer to make that trip, And whenever I am able to get back to working, its hard to say if I will be able to afford a trip or not.

We're headed down over the 4th of July. We'll do a little fishing and then drop into Arkansas to float the buffalo. From there we're headed to Hot Springs to see the Superlift park and play for a couple of days.

I usually head to either Arkansas or Missouri to deer hunt each year. I get there a few days before rifle season and try to drop one with the bow and try for two with the rifle. I always get at least 1 and it costs me less than hunting here with a higher success rate.

Grinnell - Been there done that toothy bastads. Bowhunting gar is a blast too.
