I have a dilemma and my own creative juices seem to be running low. My sister's birthday/baby shower party is coming up and I have to do the cake. WTF do I make? I haven't the slightest how I'm to incorportate her birthday, and the arrival of her daughter in the same baked good. I thought of doing two baby blocks, and having one be a birthday block and the other a baby block.

I'm no professional but I have the balls to try just about anything, and it generally turns out pretty damn good. I could really use some ideas. Even if you think they're crappy ideas they made lead to a better one.

I know I'm asking a bunch of men for cooking advice, so this could be fruitless. But none the less I'm desperate and can't think of anything cool. TIA to anyone who puts their man card down to help me brain storm. :)

Buy a cake.

Really. Or make a sheet cake that says Happy Birthday/Congratulations.

And quit with the Gunter thread naming approach. :flipoff2:

Pardon me for stating the obvious but here goes..

Aren't you celebrating 2 birthdays? Why not make a cake with "happy birthdays" on it?! ;)

Catered a party along the same line a couple of years ago. We did a cupcake rack of little babies with a small birthday cake on the top tier. Stole the cupcakes from Wilton's plan book and made a german chocolate fudge cake for the birthday cake.

I think I still have the Wilton book at the house with the cupcakes in it if you are interested.

I suppose I did say "all" ideas. :flipoff2:

I don't want to buy a cake. That's no fun. I love making them, this one simply has me stumped. I suppose I could always just do a baby shower cake of some sort and then throw some candles on it.

A first for me. I've never seen a frosting wenis before. Somehow I think the guests would take offense to a big ding dong on the cake. But that's just me, of course.

I thought it was funny. I wonder how many of those things actually get sold.
