View Full Version : Convincing the wife that a trailer, for my rig, is a good thing

I almost had her. Then she went ahead and asked a question that I didn't have a good answer for.
"Where you going to keep it?"
Well since shelling out money on a monthly basis to store it will not help my cause, I was wondering if anyone in South Metro would be interested in working out a deal where you would allow me to store it at your place free of charge, and in "payment" you could use it pretty much anytime I didn't need it?
oh and if anyone has any other options let me know....I am trying to rally from this most recent crushing defeat.

Bill, you going with bias ply tires on the Willys? If so, take her for a ride around town after they're flat spotted. That'll convince her. ;)

She actually thinks it's safe to drive one of your creations on public streets? Tell her you need a trailer to protect all of the innocent people on the road!

Driving to/from Moab at 80 mph with the AC on and the XM radio cranked is just soooooooo much better than doing it in any rig. Passing Al24 like he was standing still just makes it even better. :D

There's a place in Louviers that'll rent you a space for $30. Is that too much?

Bill, you can keep the rig at the house but not the trailer? can you store the rig on the trailer and keep it that way? I cant imagine going back to driving mine everywhere like I used to...

Let me know what works. I am getting ready to pop the question on my wife. I wish I had a better carport/garage.

We borrowed a truck and trailer to haul my ZJ to Moab a few years ago, that sold Pam on the idea of a tow rig and the trailer.

Long term plans here are for a longer than average trailor so I can place the pop-up camper on the front of it. I can sell my lady on comfort that way. Hauling it with a nice truck vs driving it and having a nice camper with us will work.

If I didn't already have a trailer, I'd take you up on that deal as I have a nifty little trailer parking space at the house, but just occasionally use it.
Has your wife not seen the last rollover video? That should help her calculate the odds of you actually driving the rig back home from the trail :flipoff2: :flipoff2:
