I saw that thing on craigslist last week.
Anywhere in the mountains with snow is a good place to ride, but for that old gem you had better stick to trails that are tracked up already. Make sure you don't go alone either.

Jones pass is close (just pass Empire) or better yet over in winter park turn right into the Lakota subdivision (second light after you come off the pass I believe) and take the next right then follow the road to the parking lot. Don't go alone, sucks to have to walk out if something goes wrong. Have fun!

Also, make sure you take an extra drive belt and spark plugs. Old sleds eat 'em up!

Don't spend too much on it. In the end you'll still have an old machine that's pretty slow and a rough ride.
I've got a '73 John Deere 400 and it only comes out when there's more opportunity to show it off and less opportunity to ride. The old sleds are cool to look at, but that's pretty much where it ends.

the old sleds are PERFECT for kids to tote around on. I put my 8 yr. old on my 800 cc. rmk and with my heart in my throat i let him take off on it. He really scared me when i thought he accidentally pinned the throttle wide open, but he was really just crackin the throttle to do to me exactly what he did.... wet my pants..
