My girlfriend takes night classes at Front Range comunity college in Ft. Collins, she goes to her Jeep after class which is an '05 unlimited and there is a note on her windshield that says, and I quote, "Jet a real Jeep. Dick". No its not a typo, the ashat can't spell I guess. WTF is that all about, Now my girlfriend is kind of scared. Dark parking lot, etc.. The nerve of some people. If I knew who it was I would take my real Jeep on 40's locked and drive right over his vehicle, show him a real Jeep!

Just kidding. I can see her being a little freaked out about it but I would think that it was just some random asshole that left it & not somebody that was was targeting her since said random asshole called her a dick.

That parking lot sucks unless you get there in the five minute window when the lot empties you are parking in the dark. If the note drop repeats, I would go sit where I could see her rig and get an eyes on so you can point him out to campus cops.

Of course you could just jet her a real jeep.

Have her walk with a group or usually campus security or police can usually provide an escort to her vehicle.

Not a joke she just started there and doesn't know any one who goes there. Thats what scares her is that it was random and idiotic.

What constitutes a real jeep any way. Oh yes, round headlights.

Time to be proactive...reactive just don't cut it anymore.

#1) Let the campus cops know about it ASAP. Any video monitering in the lot? If so, have her park where the cameras can get a clear view of her rig.

#2) Don't let her mention the note or her intentions to notify campus security, that may just scare off the arse muncher.

Then chances are he isn't smart enough to know he's a dick. As she gets to know people they can probably park close together and walk out together. Plus a $60 BS alarm from wally world with a panic button may not be a bad idea. Unless it already has one. then just be sure she has her keys at the ready.

She isn't by any chance one of those people that takes up two spots to avoid door dings, is she? That would cause some to lash out if the parking lot was full.

I think it's obvious from the note that it wasn't aimed at her directly, but at her vehicle. Maybe there was a jealous stock XJ parked next to her?

or it could be the simple fact of mistaken identity, where said asshat thought the jeep belonged to someone else (i.e.a friend) and was ribbing him.

I'd vote on the side of caution though, and take the advice offered above.

I agree with contacting the campus police, getting an escort ect...
My wife was attending classes at the Westminster campus and drove the jeep most of the time. One night 2 guys approached her in the parking lot and started asking her alot of questions like where she worked, what classes she was taking and if she wanted to make a little extra $$ on the side.....WTF?? She had never seen these guy before and they had her blocked in. I told her next time get in the jeep lock the doors call the police and then back over the top of their beamer. Hijack off

I need a picture book that shows non-real jeeps and "REAL JEEPS". Granted that there are "MALL CRAWLERS", "TRAILER QUEENS", "TRAIL GOERS" and "ROCK CRAWLERS", but I am still confused at what a "REAL JEEP" is.... HMMMMMMM?????

Well if round headlights and being old is all it takes, then my EB is in the "REAL JEEP" club.....

I never seem to get waves from anybody. I wave all the time, out both windows at once, even at people on the sidewalk, in stores, going the other direction, or that I just imagine are there. Seems like all the drivers near me are white knuckled two fisted drivers with wide eyes, red faces and they scream alot..

Not intending to ruffle any feathers. Calm down. I'm not denying that jeeps aren't popular around here. I'm just not one to follow the heard of sheepies either. Dare to be Different. Plus I like seeing the look on jeep owner's faces when I craw up the same mountain trail they did. Last time up Tomichi Pass three Jeepers from texas were shocked as hell to see a couple of big full size Chevies up there on that trail.

I can appreciate a well built Jeep just as well as a built Blazer or Bronco. When the volume of jeeps being what it is (compared to extinct K5's and Broncos) you tend to see a lot more posers with Jeeps that stick to the pavement. Or you get the rare bling'd out low rider version on streets of Pueblo..I've seen it and laugh my ass off when I do!

First let me say that if anyone on this board falls into the following catagory SP? I am sorry.....

OK....

I couldn't agree with you more. I don't know how many KIDS I see driving around town is their Lifted, Big Tire, NEVER EVER SEE DIRT vehicle. And yes you see more Jeeps then any other lifted rig. These kids spend more money on the BLING then the practicality of the vehicle. 22" rims with 35" MT/rs' on a 6" lifted full size chevy. Or the Chrome tube Smitty built on the 4" lifted 17" rim 35" Xterrians Dana 30 Dana 35 TJ. And if you ask them to go out and play they say that they didn't build their rig to do that.

Yes - I currently don't have a rig - but I have built a YJ, that was trail worthy 4+ trails and under - I built a TJ that was worthy of 4+ trails, probably could have done Pritchit but I was scared to get body damage. And a 00 XJ that was worthy of 4+ trails and I was very scared to get body damage. But I have the pictures to prove that I have wheeled my rigs.

THE BRONCO will be very worthy. I just need to decide if I am going to be scared of body damage.

Close Dave, but not quite. I'm actually insanely jealous because I don't get the Jeep wave from red Rubicons with drivers who have no idea what a locker is. Sometimes it makes me feel so bad I cry. :crybaby:

Really.

:P

Now Steve.. They can't wave.. They are on the phone, drinking a 1/2 mocha latte, 1/2 caff 1/2 decaff with a twiast of lemon, and wondering why it got soooo hard to turn into a parking spot after they hit some silly button..

:D

Forget about it. It was probably some redneck dumbass that had nothing better to do with his time. You know he's not really "watching" her since he didn't know it was a female's vehicle, and anyone that's truly spooky and harmful generally doesn't leave notes concerning someone's car choice. They sit in the shadows undetected and then spring. Someone's got a grudge against the type of Jeep she drive's, and they're a big enough loser to go out of their way to point it out to the owner with a pu$$y a$$ note.

By all means, do what you think you need to to feel safe. I'm just saying, I've gotten notes in the past on my windshield and I just crumpled them up and laughed. Nothing ever came of them. Just my .02.

I would take my real Jeep on 40's locked and drive right over his vehicle, show him a real Jeep!

im liking this answer

sit an wait and watch if it happends again, and then proceed with following the asshat home. And once you find out where he lives, go run over him or his vehicle;)

and of course, write a note, "my fake heep just ran over your p.o.s."

Sounds to me like someone had a problem with where or how the Jeep was parked. Hence the note. She wasn't hugging the line or taking two spots?
I agree with letting her take your Jeep next time.

HillBillyMan - Your question has already been answered. She was not parked funky or taking 2 spaces.

I am more along the lines of some punk that doesn't even own a jeep that maybe their mommy and daddy have a jeep and they are upset that mommy and daddy won't let them take it to school. All the while their Ford Festiva is sitting there idling as they write the note.

This is what you get when you "Jet" a real jeep:

Not pretty, is it?

But that's okay because I have a feeling the guy who wrote the note was driving this:

My girlfriend takes night classes at Front Range comunity college in Ft. Collins, she goes to her Jeep after class which is an '05 unlimited and there is a note on her windshield that says, and I quote, "Jet a real Jeep. Dick". No its not a typo, the ashat can't spell I guess. WTF is that all about, Now my girlfriend is kind of scared. Dark parking lot, etc.. The nerve of some people. If I knew who it was I would take my real Jeep on 40's locked and drive right over his vehicle, show him a real Jeep!

I am out of the loop on all the posts, but hey be glad she doesn't drive a Liberty! lol
