I share the privacy concerns as expressed throughout that discussion and therefore I don't support any web-based method of distributing such a list. I would consider a "support" thread and feature it, like the Wheeler's Network thread, so long as all of the personal info is kept offline. In other words, those who are interested send their info to whoever is maintaining the list. Likewise anyone who is interested in the list must contact whoever in maintaining it and have a copy of the list sent to them (mail, email, etc. that's up to the list admin). There are too many jackasses out there who would abuse a web-based and publicly-displayed list of personal info. While the intention is good, I personally would not participate in such a list simply because of the potential for it to fall into the wrong hands. Then what? Instead, as suggested in the above discussion, I've developed my own "list" over time of friends that I can count on in any time of need. I echo that recommendation as an alternative to the suggested public list.

Excellent idea, unfortunately the world is infested with dishonest people :(
