I thought I read somewhere that I can convert my 220v to run on 110. This of course would only be temporary. Would I just only hook up to one phase?

You'll burn up the motor if it is not a dual voltage motor. There should be a data plate on the motor itself that will show the operatng voltages.

wierd frank. the plate says 203-230 but my book for the thing shows a conversion wiring

meh thats scetchy, i don't want to mess that motor up. i guess i'll just run my 220 first.
