Herd about ophir creek in snowest magazine, but don't know where it is. I believe it is near Pueblo or westcliffe. Any one know how to get there and what the trails are like for snowmobiling? Probably not the best but close. Thanks for any info.

go down I25 past pueblo and the exit is the colorado city/rye exit I beleive. you will pass bishops castle on that road if that helps any...

I have no idea about trail conditions...

Im not sure the distance but there are signs. you would go left and the exit is in the middle of a hard downhill cutback turn...

There are a couple of different ways you can go.You can take hwy 96 west to hwy 165 ( makenzie junction) then hang left and follow it to Ophir Creek rd.The other is stated above.Take I 25 south to the Colorado City/Rye/San Isabele exit (hwy 165) head west past San Isabele Lake then past Bishops Castle.Ophir creek isnt too far past the castle and it will be on your left.It is in the middle of a 90+ degree turn.I wouldnt say that it is a trail but rather a gravel road.I used to drive my 67 Dart GT all the way to the top behind Greenhorn mountain. There are some cool side trails you can take though. The road goes on over to the Gardner area and past Mission Wolf.It used to be that the road was closed from Nov. to march (I think) so as not to disturb the wildlife. Not sure if it's still that way or not.
