Anybody know of a place in the southern part of Denver that would have AFE stuff in stock? I need a filter cleaning kit.

I've used the K&N kit I kept in my tool box on the AFE setups, seemes to work fine.

No prob, it's all the same shit.

Key is to not over oil it, if your running a MAF.

I think the diesel place in Castle Rock has it.

How do you know if your MAF is messed up from over-oiling?

MAF dumps, and you either get a hard lean/rich code. Symptoms can be from sluggish response to a no start condition. Depends on the model. Most domestics, you can usually get away with cleaning a MAF with some rubbing alocohol and a q-tip. The foreign ones, usually need to be replaced.

EDIT:

In certain cases: a good visual is to rub your finger inside the MAF housing, if it feels greasy, too much oil was installed on the filter. If you see any fluid on the wire/chip, then you potentially have bigger problems (dying maf).

409 works just as good & is cheaper than the actual cleaner that they sell...

Still use K&N oil.
