I always hear about these different generations like the "pepsi" generation. I guess I dont know what generation the "pepsi" generation and these other "generations" are as I dont watch TV, so enlighten me as to who falls into the pepsi generation please.

The only way to support combat on the scale of WWII (where millions of Americans were in uniform in theaters of combat all over the world) would be through a draft. Not sure how well that would sit. Better than being invaded and occupied, though.

Even in the face of invasion/occupation, though, I'm sure a bunch of weenies would still be castigating the government and the military.

"and our military was clintoned and now cant defend ourselves."

I am generation "X" i guess. So they tell me any way. Born in 81 and owned and played every video game console in that time. It was fortold that my generation would be the largest population of new wave hippies. No workin pot smokin liberal losers. I dont know if it came true but there is alot of that for sure. I know worthless people from all generations and there are hero's in each gen also.

I agree with what you said here but I see alot less respect from our generation and it gets worse every year (I was born in 79).

I think the real problem is the parents are not standing up to the kids like they did in the past. You cant spank kids because everyone thinks this is abuse and this political correct stuff needs to go. People need to realize that feelings get hurt and somethings you just need to deal with.

Didn't the Greatest Generation fail in that regard? They produced the Baby Boomers, the hippies, the war protestors and the free spirits, and all the problems that went with them. If you look at it that way, they were responsible for their kids and all the mistakes those kids made as teens and twentysomethings. I?d say that was their biggest failure.

Personally, I tend to see it as a pendulum effect, or maybe a sinusoidal wave, where it swings back and forth from one extreme to another. The only generation that could?ve followed such a down to earth one was the Baby Boomer generation.

As for the disrespect stuff, we weren?t around in the 60?s, but I hear tell that it was pretty bad. I have a hard time believing that it is any worse now than it was back then.

Oh, and I?m a Y?er that acts more like an X?er.
