What a nightmare for powder hounds though. 12" new at A-Basin and Vail, 11" at Breck and you couldn't get there...

We were there for a 2 night stay on Wed/Thurs. Instead of staying last night, we decided to drive back before the weather got bad.
The whole drive from Breckenridge to I-70 (9 miles) took 45 minutes due to blowing snow. I have never driven in 'white-out' conditions before. It was SCARY, all of the sudden you couldn't see 2" in front of you.
We must've made it just in time back to Denver because when I got home (at 10:15 p.m.) I saw that they had closed I-70 again.
We are headed back tonight for another 2-night stay up at Copper. Has the weather settled down?
If I leave at 5:00 p.m. am I going to hit MEGA traffic?

I have hit 2 whiteouts in the last 2 days in different spots that were so bad I had to coast to a stop and hope for the best. One of them I ended up on the wrong side of the road next to a snowbank. It is still windy as heck here. I am not going far from home today. Be careful and cross your fingers out there. No one passes me in snow EVAR so don't think I am exaggerating. :D

It's no fun driving those conditions in a 4x4 But try doing it in a semi with an empty 53' trailer...it was a mess but I made it from Avon to GJ
