Guaging interest... Needed better cooling on the current project in the shop. Decided to give the Pherd Taurus fan a try; however, we weren't real impressed with the fit of the unit in it's stock form. That and it was to thick to fit in the tight confines of this engine bay, with a 455 Buick in it there isn't much room for anything else.

As pulled from the donor Taurus the fan assembly measures about 5.50" - 5.75" thick when laid on the CJ radiator. The shrowd does not complete cover the core either. Our new mount and shrowd reduces the overall thickness (as measured from the core) to 4.25" and completely covers the core for maximum cooling efficiency.

Here's a few shots of the finished prototype, note that the mount for the radiator itself is also something we do here and not part of the fan mount shrowd. Converting your radiator to a free standing mount is not for the faint of heart, it requires reducing your grill to just a shell...

Production models will differ slightly, :D Right now we can duplicate this mount/shrowd for CJ apps. YJ and TJ models (or anything else) to follow given you have the room to install. Customer supplies the fan motor and blade, note fan shown is from a Taurus SHO model.

Pricing update: CJ application mounts will run $99.95 plus shipping. Our web site will be updated soon to reflect this new product, please stay tuned as we will continue to add products as the R&D time allows.

Orders taken from CO4X4.org members between now and Memorial Day will be given a 15% discount, $85.00 + shipping. PM me to order, so I can verify membership. Please note orders will not be shipped until mid July as we are backed up with other projects currently.

wanna be real trick? You should get some aluminum heat sinks and bolt them onto the metal sides of that shroud too :)

Always have room for a Binder nut! :D Let me look through my stash and see if I still have a Sprout radiator lying about, if not I'll go find one and get the measurements I need and get back to you with a price and availability.

Hey RockYacht, when you have my rig, I might also have you fab me up a fan shroud for my stock Vortec 350 clutch fan if I don't get around to fabbing one up myself. I don't have a cooling problem but I'd sure like to have one on there for the Moab trips.
