Hmmmm....if that is the new rule then why not just have everyone send you some themes and keep them in a pile to pull from?

I think part of the fun is not knowing the theme until it was announced. And I never had issues with anyone sending me their themes...ok once.

Works for me - new rule amended. Themes go to both of us.

I think I may have been the "once". I forgot that it was up to me to pick the new theme until it was too late :tisk:

I will do better next time (that is, if I can ever shoot anything worthy of winning again).

These are not PRO shots by any means, but what I could accomplish by maxing out my "point and shoot" non-SLR digital camera. No editing.

Here is my attempt. A macro of one of those Mini-Rose plants. It's hanging in there during the winter.

Only processing is cropping.

Thanks. Actually, I think I was very lucky with that one. The hawk didn't seem to care that I walked right up to the small tree it was perched in, so when it finally flew away, I was ready and waiting. I wouldn't have gotten it otherwise because I don't have a telephoto lens.

I'm just happy to see people participating again.

I am debating announcing the next week's contest on Thursday mornings instead of Friday after the vote wraps up, since we have a pool of ideas to work from. Let's people get an early jump on things. Thoughts?

That is why I picked that one. Feel free to look around in the gallery, there are actually some pretty good one's in there. I can't wait to go back in the spring/summer when the background colors are more rich.

Nice pic Budman. Thanks for adding to the anxiety of voting this week.

Just glad I could come up with one that was on topic

so did the amount of time change for how long we have to vote as well? It seems much shorter?

Winning photo will be announced on the following Friday afternoon

Unfortunately, the poll options don't let me control exactly when the poll closes, but I posted a winner anyway.

It was shorter cause the poll was posted on Thursday, not Wednesday night...

Why yes you did, my bad.

The poll should not have closed until 7:49 tonight if you set it for 2 days...

ColoradoSkier
January 25th, 2008, 05:03 PM
I know, but I wanted to set it for 1.5 days - it wouldn't let me. Oh well, if a different person wins, so be it (I'll update). Learning as I go people.

Tiffany
January 25th, 2008, 05:34 PM
I just let the poll run its course and deal with it that way...less hassle really
