ok, so I'm about to order a new m4 kit, complete except stripped lower. I'm going to add a DPMS lower, since the upper & barrel will be DPMS.

I've already talked myself into forking out for the 1x7 chrome lined m4 barrel, and i'm now wondering if it wouldn't be a good idea to chrome the bolt and carrier. it's only $50, but that's 5 plastic israeli mags if I don't do it. :D

Titanium nitride is also available, but I thought it might be a bit hard on the upper wherever the bolt contacts. afterall, they do coat drill bits with that stuff.

I'd get the mags. If the M4 needed a chrome plated bolt Uncle Sam would have issued them that way.

X2...you wont wear out a standard bolt. The barrel and other parts will likely be worn out LONG before a bolt is.
