I would like to buy a car hauler for my jeep. I will be hauling it with a 2007 chevy half ton... Not going to be hauling it that much but maybe a trip or two to moab a year. It would be nice to be able to through some crap on it and haul it to the dump... What ya got..
**EDIT** What is a good brand that is a fair price?? I have been looking on Big tex's website but thats about it... Any advice would be helpful..

Call DunRite trailers...H & H trailer. I just sold one to someone on this board. You get a lifetime warranty on the wood deck, 10 year warranty on the trailer. I have yet to see another manufacture with that kind of warranty and quality.
Jayco trailers are very nice too.

I just bought a Carson trailer for 2K www.carsontrailer.com . Only had it a month but it seems just as good as any I've towed before.

OK one thing I don't see on any of the sites, is how much do the trailers them selves weight? I guess when I get off I could call. But if anyone knows what a 16' car hauler weights approx. it would be appreciated.

If you want a good trailer and want a really good deal, AND wouldn't mind a road trip to get it, go down to Oklahoma. I bought my trailer in Oklahoma City to trailer my El Camino up to Denver when I was moving. I got a 18' w/ dove tail, ramps, tandem 3500lb axles, wood deck, brakes on both axles, emergency brake away brakes and the brake box controller all for 1500 bucks brand new. They sell them cheap in Oklahoma. And trailers aren't required to be licensed in Oklahoma so you don't have to worry about that. All you would have to do after getting it to Colorado is getting a VIN check and plates. Worth checking in to in my opinion.

Don't quote me on this, but I'm going to say it was Terrys Trailers. I tried to dig up my paper work from when we bought it but couldn't find it. It was back in 2002. I think their website is www.terrystrailers.com (http://www.terrystrailers.com) Good luck on your search.

I have a 7000k bumper pull Big Tex. It's been a good trailer and served me well. If you can afford it, get at least a 10k trailer and make sure you get brakes on all axles. I wish I had the extra capacity on mine. With my bronco, it's pretty well maxed out.
I found mine on the thrifynickel website. Google will show you how to get there. Craigslist is also a good source for used.

I double the craigslist recommendation. I picked up a 20' B-line 7k trailer that needed a new deck and brakes on the 2nd axle for $600. Wood is cheap $150 and I spent about $150 on brakes for the 2nd axle. I could have used the old deck for a few more years, but since I was running at near max capacity I decided to re-deck it....
