This was an interesting survey designed to help you find who you are most closely aligned with politically. Even though it is done by the lefties of NPR, it does seem to work. I was personally suprised at who popped up after I too the survey. Anyway, give it a shot and see what happens. If your brave enough to post who you match with go for it.

I'll be damned! It did match me where I already was.... reluctantly with McCain.

Obama was dead last on my list, with even Class-Warfare Edwards ahead of him. That surprised me a bit.

I did this when I found a link the other day on Pirate. It said I should vote for Huckabee. Imagine that :D

Just like the last time a similar quiz was posted, the candidates it picked for me disagree with me on the few high-importance issues, but agreed with me on the many low-importance issues. Not sure how I feel about that.

The line-item veto is moot. That's been passed and ruled unconstitutional because it violates separation of powers.
The embryonic stem-cell issue is dead too because they can now create stem cells from adult skin cells (http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/11/29/AR2007112901878.html).
The phrasing of several of those questions was prejudicial and non-specific. "Do you favor or oppose 'Universal Health Care?'" Well gee, what exactly are we talking about here? The ideas run from pure government-run socialized medicine to private sector solutions. Bad question.
It still pointed me to Fred Thompson, though. :)

Same order for me with a 3-way tie between Hunter, McCain and Thompson (how the hell did McCain get up there?)
Probably because I ranked every question except gay marriage as "very important" so it weighted them all the same even though some technically are a little more important than others to me.

pretty cool as it highlighted my dilema...who do I caucus for? Obama or Edwards.
I am leaning towards eEwards, but when he doesn't make the cut I will jump on the Obama-Train.

Odd. My top was McCain with 20. I was mildly surprised.
#2 were Giuliani and Paul tied at 17.
Bottom 3 were Obama, Edwards, Clinton tied with 4. No surprise there.
Right now, I like Ron Paul the best, but he is a kook without a prayer. McCain is not a serious candidate, neither is Thompson. I do not trust Romney, and Giuliani isn't big into freedom.

I ranked almost everything but taxes and healthcare as only somewhat important or not important.
I dun GAF about marriage or abortion. I'm fine with gay marriage and abortion both. It ain't my call what someone else does.
I'm only somewhat concerned with security and immigration.
But you fawkers had better leave your hands off my money and not waste it on communist healthcare pipedreams! RAAR!!! :flipoff2:

Wow. My favorite contender is Ron Paul, but he was #10 on my list, and matched me at only 8!
An even bigger wow is that The Breck Boy, AKA John Edwards tops my list and Richardson comes in second, both matched at 14.

Main thing that drove McCain to the top for me was his Iraq war stance.
The way I see it is "Let's win this thing, then we can work out all the little stuff". Of course, if the federal government were doing only what it's allowed by the constitution, most of the little stuff wouldn't be there anyway.

The only intelligent thing to do is to not vote, but hey might as well cast a vote right?

:D That's what I thought with my results as well, I must be a bundle of contradictions, but there it is.
Looks like a lot of us either aren't as familiar with the candidates stances on things as we think we are...OR that poll is jacked up. Could be both. But I truly can't imagine matching my beliefs best with Edwards, that is not computing at all.
