depends. what type of games do you like playing.

Also remember that if you get a wii, you will have to put the motion sensor bar in front of you. I have never seen anyone do that with a projector screen but I assume you could do that, assuming the cord is long enough.

They make extension cords as well as wireless sensor bars just for that reason.

I have never owned a console before in my life. I bought a Wii last year and enjoy it. The fun and social factor are huge. Even just the Wii Sports is worth it. IMO it is worth the money, and time to find one over an Xbox.

I've got one on a projector. It is a stretch though.

I didn't realize they made cordless sensors. I may have to pick one up.

Depends on what kind of gaming you like to do.

If you just want it for Guitar Hero, theres no reason to shell out the extra money for a PS3 or 360. For social games, theres no better deal than the Wii right now. Its a great system for a group of people but IMO, thats were the fun stops. Most of the games for it are very repetitive and doing the motions over and over get old after a while. The graphics are nothing to write home about either. The Wii is a cute system and is fun but its novelty wears off pretty fast.

If you want serious video gaming...racing, sports, FPS, etc...then get the 360 or a PS3. Much more powerful systems that offer much more "grown up" gaming i guess you could say.

With Blu-Ray looking like its going to take over, the PS3's are a bargain and with more games on the way for it, i think they will eventually give the 360 some very stiff competition.

Besides Guitar Hero, you can also get Rock Band, but it's only available for 360, PS2 and PS3.

I have both Wii and 360 right now. Like everyone has said, the wii gets played socially, the 360 mostly just by me. The wii games are a great party starter or fun for just you and your spouse. The wireless sensor bar just uses AA batteries and you can usually find it for $15 online if you look around. The upside about the 360 is that there are a lot more games offered. There is no comparison between the graphics, the 360 blows the wii out of the water. There is no HD support for the wii and it still looks like nintendo 64 at times even with the composite cables. Guitar hero is also more expensive on the wii as well.

ok you're right :D ... when it first came out it was more expensive. I looked into getting it but decided against it because the bundle was more.

The arcade comes with no hard drive and a wired controler. The Premium comes with a wireless controller and a 20GB(i think??) hard drive. The Elite i think just a bigger hard drive. Check microsofts page for specs. The Premium at 349 is the best value they have IMO.

elite has a 120 and HDMI output, unless they added that to the others finally

My premium came with a wireless controller, 20 gig, and hdmi. They have 360's at sams club for $300 with two wireless controllers, a play and charge kit, HDMI, and i think a 20 gig. If you are thinking of going that rout and have a membership. Make sure you get one with an HDMI input because it usually means it is a newer model. The older models had issues with overheating. The newer ones have an upgraded heat management system and better chips. There is lots of info online about it if you need more info.

Look. You can find them. I know our walmart here gets them in on Wed.

It took my brother and I 13 different stores to find one for my rents so just keep looking. You can find it with a little luck.

wii has the games-for-third-graders market covered.

If you want to play something more mature than *mario*.* forget nintendo and go 360 or PS3. Also wii is not HD.

Wii is, however, outstanding if you have kids.

I got mine at gamestop. They all use to get them in on the same day. They told me when to expect them in. I just made a few calls until i found a store that still had one. I ended up driving across the city to pick it up but there are a lot of game stops in town. This worked for me a year ago when they were in even more short supply. Good luck!

I didn't see anyone mention this, but the Wii is not HD AFAIK, 360 is.

That wouldn't be that big a deal but when you blow that up to 93 inches the SD suckfest emerges. I have a buddy with a big screen TV and SD shows on there suck balls. Hell they suck enough on my 50" plaz. My SD Xbox (not 360) games look mediocre at 50" in 480p (that's what's on the box and I have all the HD hookups for it and the box set to a max of 1080i).

Yeah it isn't HD. Right now i have mine hooked up to a 42 in plasma in 480p and it isn't too bad. I didn't buy the wii for graphics though. I tend to forget about the sub-par look once i start swinging the wiimote around like a spaz.

I did not buy the wii for hd, i bought it for the old games, zelda, supermario brothers, and i look forward to the weight loss with the interactive games:flipoff2:
