My dad has a 98 ram cummins with auto. It has been juiced a little nothing major. (400rhwp 800ft_lbs) Had some tranny mods like bd convertor, line pressure thing, valve body etc. Now it is lagging when he puts it into reverse. All forward gears work fine, no clutchs slipping. any ideas what this maybe? I think it maybe something like a servo? dunno though

Second part of the question who builds the best tranny for dodges? Are suncoasts good? (I know they build good GM's)

Thanks!

Suncoast and Goerend have excellent reputations, as does BD. I just put a BD in my '06 CRD, very pleased. I'd try calling BD and ask if there is something with the converter that might cause this. Their customer service is really good.

Yea he sent the convertor back to get cut and cleaned. The reverse band was wore down and caused the problem.

Nope. Unless you prefer poor customer service, overpriced parts and denied warranties. I'll stick with my Goerends.

he probably had around 40k on convertor, not sure on the reverse band.
