well im sure its been hashed out before, but hey, why not once more?

narrowed my tire search down to these two:

Geolander A/T-S
and
Terra Grappler's

currently running DC FC II's, size 285/75/16 (front bumper shimmed out ~1")

--------------

im thinking i wanna stay D rated as i do not tow or haul often, and also maybe bump up a size to 295 or 305's

my driving consists of mostly on road, but when i do go off, its pretty rocky (think White Rim trail [i do NOT recommend doing this trail in an 8000lb truck-took me 3 days and beat me to death], think various exploration trails in the mtns here (rampart, goldcamp, and some off shoots). i need good snow performance on road, and of course, good wear, handling, etc. and for the occasional colorado mtn trail, dependability and toughness.

the FC II's were OK, actually still are, but are over half gone (say 22k on them). performed great on the WR trail, did OK in the snow, but i just want a change.

the Geo's rate a 10 on the A/T survey in Tirerack.com, the Nittos are not on tirerack.

which one? or....dare i ask... what are you running.

thanks
mike

We run geolandars on an isuzu trooper and they're great. I have a buddy that run's the Terra Grapplers on his Dodge 2500 CTD and he loves them. I would say go with the Nittos for a truck

Nitto's. you will not like the yokohama for mud and snow.

I had good luck with the Geolanders on an F-150 and an explorer, but I never got the opportunity to wear either of them out. They were wearing "ok" on the explorer, but I thought the snow traction was pretty good. I have heard that Nitto's wear fast.
