So I was just sitting at my computer enjoying a good game of BF2 and all of a sudden I see this bright light coming from my computer.

Huh...what the hell?

I glance over to see through the Plexiglas side and DAMN!!!

:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek: MY BOX IS ON FIRE!!!!!!!!!:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

There is the little flame on the bottom of my mother board and sparks flying at the same time!!

So I try and get the side cover off and forget about the little hand screws....finally get them off as the flame is so ever slightly growing towards my 2nd VC. Blow out the flame and it continues to spark.

Hit the power button and it sparks even more, and just finally hit the switch on the power strip.

WTF!!!!!

Electrical fires STINK!!!!!

Looks like the 3 year warranty will be used for the 2nd time now.

No BF2 for me for a while!

Do you guys think they will have to replace the MB?
Will I lose anything that is currently on my machine?

Umm, from what you described I would guess so. :flipoff2:

If they do infact replace it you will be fine since the IDE controller is most likely the same (guessing replace with the same mobo). If not the data will be there but you will probably have to do an inplace upgrade to get Windows to boot.

:flipoff2:

I was actually thinking more like my memory or video cards.

Didn't know if all the sparking would cause them to go bad or not.

It should be down about a week, I'm guessing you'd need about 2 months.:flipoff2:

YEa - we just got a new PC = turned it on the other day and smelled that wonderful aroma of fried electronics   .

Now I finally have BF2 letting me in to servers but get kicked for an error, something about communication:rant:  . Orginally it was inadequate OS access got that fixed now to work on this one   .

I guess BF2 and Punkbuster do not like Windows Vista
