Picked up COD4 and played online for a few hours last night...made it up to rank 9 in a couple hours. Turned it on this morning to play a little more and whats this?!?! My multiplayer ranks GONE!! Played it again, got to rank 3, turned the system off and sure enough, it was again, my rank was gone!! I searched online and found lots of people whining and complaining about this issue, but cant find a solution to fix it....sounds like its an issue with updating the PS3's firmware. Anyone have any ideas how to fix this??

PS3, whats that??? ;)
How is the game? Any fun? I hear GOTY potential from some people. Ignoring the issues, how good is it?

Doing some quick searching on some gaming forums I found this message posted in several places.
"To All Server Admins:
If you set up a modded server (i.e. unranked) please dont use the forward slash (\) for the root path to your fs_game folder.
The correct path is:
fs_game mods/modfolder
Many admins are using this:
fs_game mods\modfolder
which is incorrect. The game will still run using it, but the game reads the use of a forward slash as an attempt to hack the mpdata file for some reason, and hence resets your ranks, because it doesnt recognise the forward slash.
This isnt a "bug" as such, but perhaps IW can fix it so that the game recognises both forward and back slashes for direction to the root fs_game path. In the first patch maybe?"
