I use Avast! home edition... it's free for us home users and works like a charm.

AVG. Im an AVG Partner/Reseller. If you decide to step up from the free version lemme know, Ill save you cash over retail. The free version is virus ONLY, their internet security works great on all kinds of spyware/malware/virus/spam. Very affordable, works really well!

another option is Eset's NOD32. I like both NOD32 and AVG, but fully switched to NOD32 a while ago when I went to 64bit platforms and AVG didn't support them.

I like AVG, far less annoying and less invasive than Norton. I have 2 of my 3 personal computers on my docket for upcoming rebuilds. None of them will ever see norton products again. Stupid annoying crap, grrrrrrrr.

BTW- watch out for some freebies out there, they come with their own adware. how nice of them, lol. AVG does not, and it works quite well.

I use Avast on my home systems, but my laptop that I travel with I use Norton 360. It's still fairly cheap and has the full security suite. It started up slow on my old, non X2, laptop but ran very well after that. On my new X2 laptop it runs and starts up like a champ.
