question for you guys, so for the most part if i pass a jeep that is built up i wave, but almost every jeep i wave to just kinda sticks their nose up at me....every other 4x4 wave back and we do the whole thumbs up thing....so my question is to the jeep guys, is it that you guys only give each other the whats up, or is it that noone like scouts? lol

Search Jeep Wave. Been brought up eleventy billion times. The ones that build their rigs and truly wheel will probably wave back at you, regardless of make or model.

I'll wave back to just about anyone who waves at me, especially if they are in a built rig, regardless of make and model. I admit I don't often initiate the wave to someone unless it's another Jeep, though.

I'll wave at anyone that waves at me ESPECIALLY if they are in a 4x4 even if it's not a Jeep. 'cept there's this one guy I pass every morning in a built Jeep that doesn't wave back... so I gave up... guess guys don't like waving back to chicks with bigger rigs ;)

OK, I am not a "Jeep" guy but I have several.
On pavement, if someone waves and I notice I wave back.
On a Dirt road, Same
On a trail, I usually wave first, always wave back, figure they are an @ss if they don't wave.

Why do people get worked up about this? I have friends tell me that they see me and wave and I don't wave back. Why? Because I'm not looking around to see who is waving! Perhaps not everyone sees you waving at them. ;)

i get that, not saying that every jeep sees me waving, guess i'm just one of those guys if i see a built rig, i'm checking it out as i pass.....big tires are first thing i always see when a rig is coming towards me. its just that across the board from jeeps the scout doesnt get much love......guess it really is a jeep thing

Don't feel alone,I drive a modded Jeep and go pretty much unnoticed to,granted it's a Liberty but I do wheel it.I will wave back to anybody that waves(if I notice),given up on waving to other modded vehicles due to the same look you are getting just because I'm in a Liberty.

Me too. I get waves from built jeeps when I'm in the Defender.

BTW, not me but I know some one selling a D-90 with 50K miles, Fox shocks, three different tops for a friggin steal...If I had it right now I'd buy it.

My problem is that im not paying attention to people trying to wave at me since now days there's tons of retarded drivers out there on the streets, im paying attention to what others are doing around me.

On the trail I try to wave.

On dirt roads I try to wave.

Back when I first got the jeep I would always wave to others, then I just started feeling like a retard when others wouldnt wave back, so I dont wave that often any more, plus my windows are tinited now so you cant really see me.

thats right, we all hate other 4x4's and would never wave to an inferior wheeling rig such as a scout, EB ect..

my vote for dumbest thread ever......well, this week.

When I drive the wife's FJ Cruiser- they all wave. Guess it's a FJ Cruiser thing as well.

Same for Vettes- big "save the wave" movement with all those guys. I'd say 95% wave.

It is undeniable. There is a bit of a Jeep thing. I always have dealt with that driving a fullsize Bronco.

Blow it off as extreme brand loyalty and enjoy what you got! As you could have blown off Colin for his/her post.

It helps to remember that the jeep thing makes it burn when you pee.

I don't think it's terribly weird, or anything. When I drive my 350Z, I wave at other Z owners, but I don't wave at just any sports car. When I wear my Cardinals jersey, I'll wave at other people wearing Cardinals paraphernalia, but not just anyone who has a baseball jersey of some sort on.

Doesn't mean I hate other 4x4 drivers, baseball fans, or sports car owners (except maybe Corvette owners, they are just sick and wrong).

hand on a spring and attach it to my front bumper, cause I'm gettin tired of waving at everbody in 4x4's so they don't think I'm a "Bass Turd" in a Jeep.
When we were kids we wheeled a "65 Scout and loved it.Then later a Toyota.
Deep down we are all wheelers first, we just like what we have now.
Remember when the kids with YZ's hated the kids with KX's and RM's
and the guys with CR's forgetaboutit!!Why can't we all just get along?

Thats cause it is not a real Jeep... Just kidding I will wave no matter what make or model, but normally if some one waves at me first. My Jeep is not too big and goes unnoticed.

whenever my crew sees a jeep we just flip them off and be done with it. lol. not really.

My buddy ryan just finished his buggy and he's a real ass. Whenever he sees a lifted rig, he gives them the thumbs down.

but really, now what we do is instead of slug bug we play slug lifted jeep. That gets some brawls inside the jeep going, driving down the street. :D that's with the girlies though.

When it's just the boys we play to ten, once we get to ten it's a fritten death ring cause the game has been going on for so long. So if i see a lifted i go to one. if he sees five lifted jeeps he goes to four and i would go back to zero. it's a pretty tough game to keep up with. meh i dunno, i get bored on road trips

Nobody waves to us Scout guys because they want to make sure we keep both our hands on the steering wheel.

A lot of the Jeep guys wave when no other Jeep buddies are in the car or near them. I feel like their dirty little secret...:flipoff2:

there are all sorts:

College Posers: that either wave cause they think mine's a Jeep, or start to get inferiority complexes when another built rig pulls up.

budget builders: dangerous type possibly, wave enthusiastically mouth "bad ass" and give the . Be wary of them following you to steal pieces off your rig. :D

Daddy Bought Me My Jeep Chic: cute and waves, say's "nice Jeep" while staring at "land cruiser" and Toyota all over the vehicle...Just wave back.

LMAO! You just now realized that? :) I have been enjoying that childish attitude for over 15 years. We actually make a game of it. Pull up next to the Jeep and watch how hard they try NOT to look at your rig. LOL.
You and I have Scouts. The NON Belly Button vehicle. The "I don't have the need to belong to the Herd vehicle". I have pulled up next to Jeep guys and they have flat PRETENDED I wasn't even there. It is amazing and hilarious at times. My passengers usually are laughing as much as I am.

I went on a memorial run here in Tucson last April with another Scout Guy. It was for a Jeep friend that got killed by a drunk driver. The Jeep guys that showed up never ever said a word to us for the 5 hours while we were on the trail. It was very apparent that we was not welcome. I didn't care as I was there for the Family of the deceased Jeeper. They were there wheeling too.

If you really enjoy a good laugh. Wheel my H3 off-road and enjoy the hateful looks you get. They are even better than when I am piloting the Scouts. The great thing is EVERY time a Jeep guy does say something to me while off road, they ALWAYS assume that I am new to wheeling and the H3 is my 1st 4x4. I usually break the ice by asking them if they seen the entrance to the MALL around here, we're LOST!

Dude, don't worry about the wave. If you really feel the need to belong to the "Group" by all means get a Jeep.

Honestly I really don't care what someone wheels, as long as they are wheeling. Hell, I will wheel with anyone, even other Scouts.

Well i would agree Im 20 been wheeling for 2 years and almost done with my rig(for now) i know about your FJ i know about the boys toyota with a 8 inch that i am jealous of until i get that turdy 5 out of there. Or the sami that i want that lives two blocks away. I always wave, its not the model or even the rig its the dik inside!
If i wave and you don't... Go F%^$ yourself, you yuppie!!!
I seem to see the most of these people listed, are behind the wheel of TJ's and they will have there 1" BL lifts and some BFG MT 33's and tinited windows and when they come out of the Cherry Creek Mall (bad exp.) they look @ ya and turn on their Jeeps with a Remote Starter, WHOA!!!!!

LMAO! You just now realized that? I have been enjoying that childish attitude for over 15 years. We actually make a game of it. Pull up next to the Jeep and watch how hard they try NOT to look at your rig. LOL.:

Or when they are looking and you look over and they turn away real fast!
