Dont feel bad...especially during action events, i can snap several hundred pictures and walk away with maybe a few keepers! Thats why i buy BIG memory cards, stick it on continuous drive and shoot away!!

LOL Brad...the bad ones are simply...BAD. Not lighting, just not having a lens fast enough for basketball speeds...and more of mom wanting to watch her kid than take pics :D
And a few are nothing more than a tripod/monopod fix ;)
BTW, I currently shoot a Rebel XT. Decided that I will step up to a 40D for Christmas for Tiffany :D

Those indoor "gyms" used to give me fits to find enough light.

Don't feel bad though, My point and shoot Fuji S5000 thats supposed to shoot in all situations couldn't take a decent shot in ANY gyms with their lighting. Even if what i'm shooting is standing perfectly still the picture will still blurr because no matter how steady I hold the camera the shutter stays open far too long and any bit of movement I make blurrs it horribly. I dont even bother taking my camera to my duaghters school plays or concerts anymore because every shot turns into abstract blurry art. My camera has a tripod mount on it but I never remember to pick up a inexpensive monopod when i'm at Walmart or Circuit City. Thats why I can't wait to get my new camera and start learning how fiddle around with the manual settings for different types of shots. Plus I can finally get pictures of my daughters school plays and concerts.

Nice photo! I like how the slight bit of blur on the basketball accentuates the action. I hate trying to take pictures under gym light. Your colors are great -- did you change your white balance to compensate?

No, I adjusted it in Light Room. Think I stepped it up an exposure or something...I just click crap until it looks right to me :D

.I just click crap until it looks right to me :D
Im the same way lol
Usually clarity, vibrance and saturation are the first ones i hit...unless the exposure is way off.

I'm thinking of maybe getting a book so that it might be a tad more useful to me...LOL

In all reality, there isnt that much more to Lightroom other than cropping, exposure and color adjustments and RAW manipulation. In terms of photo editing, its pretty basic and really easy to use which is why i like it. All the heavy editing is reserved for photoshop.

Yeah, but I really like it for the work flow. Has made me a bit more disciplined with how I store photos and the like.
I actually think there is a bit more to it, just need to find it and figure out how to use it. Not gonna take a class or anything, but a book might help.
