Went to Estes Park this weekend with the grandparents and parents. What an awesome RELAXING weekend that was. We stayed at the YMCA camp so watching TV wasn't an option, but sleeping on the couch next to the fire was just as good. :)
Saw HUNDREDS of elk some in town and some in RMNP. I got some good pictures, but not as many as I had expected. Trying to get a picture of a bull bugling while trying not to have a power plant or McDonalds in the background isn't easy. Plus I wasn't on my own schedual so I couldn't spend an hour in RMNP taking pictures since grandma wanted to get back to the shops  Oh well great weekend none the less and got some good pictures anyways.
Oh, you were looking for pictures?
This is a new chapel they have up at the top of the YMCA camp on the way to that old castle (as the fam calls it). They were having a wedding Saturday night...I'm young, but I know where I want to get married now.

The wide angle is SO wide that I took a picture of the lens hood. Kinda cool I thought.

This duck just followed me both in the water and on land jealous of the elk for getting all the attention so I snapped a few to make her feel better.

Yes, I saw a few elk too. Again not too many since they were always in front of some kind of building or bus.

If you ever have the opportunity to go to Estes in October, DO IT! Seeing elk cross at the crosswalk and eat bushes while standing on a deck is well worth the 1.5hr drive.
