I need a monopod bad. Tripod will be next, but for now a monopod should do me for what my needs call for.

Thoughts?

Thats a good monopod. Anything bogen(manfrotto) is pretty much good stuff all around. The only thing that might be a hindrance with it is that its still 2 feet long when collapsed which is a little bit large if your going for compact.

X2.
Anything from Bogen/Manfrotto is going to be top notch.
I have been using a Manfrotto tripod and a few of their heads for awhile now and I like 'em a lot. :D

Yeah, it's still a bit long when collapsed, but its a great height when sitting on the floor at roller derby :D

I picked that one due to its max load capacity...may come in to play with the longer, heavier sports oriented lenses.

Will check out the other ones they have...not too worried about the collapsed length, but let me see if they have something a bit shorter.
