I picked the "Flight" and "Glass" one...i try to pick subjects that are readily available, but also will get you out and teach you to use a creative eye to define something "different".

For instance...last weeks was "Sanctuary"...first thing that popped in my mind was a church as did probably alot of others...but its those creative ones that out forth the effort to go out and find something that was their "Sanctuary". Those are the photos that are quality...anyone can go out and take a picture of a church and enter it but its the ones that go the extra mile and make an effort to combine all aspects of photography that make contests like this fun and a good learning experience...its more than just about light and color.

and how do you have time to be creative?

and how do you have time to be creative?

Creativity is totally irrelevant to time. I consider myself a pretty creative person by nature and snapping a picture of something "different" doesnt really take a lot of time out of my day.

That's part of what this is about...pushing all of us to go out and take pics and be creative. The only way to be a better photographer is to take more pictures and work on it.

Myself, I struggle with going out and just shooting pics so having a theme each week pushes me to get off the couch and go do something.

The pic looks distorted on purpose, I was taking this pic through the bottom of a drinking glass!

For some reason I can't seem to pull any info from the pic as far as camera settings!?

It was taken with a Fuji Fine Pix S5000

Ok, I finally got off my lazy arse and participated! I'm glad I did...I had so much fun trying to get some creative shots.

Due to lack of planning on my part I probably won't be able to enter this week. However, here's a little more inspiration for those who may need it.

Perfect timing on my hubby bringing that one home for a taste test. Hmmm, this assignment made me thirsty...

Coming in a little late, just got back form working out and snapped this on the way. Hope it isn't too late.

I also suggest that for future POTW, the deadline be like 1:30 or so, to accommodate the last minute take a picture at lunch crowd (hardly a crowd since it is likely just me).

If you are referring to my previous deleted posts, I kept doing that because my image wasn't showing up correctly. I had a cropped version that wasn't being pasted into the site. Finally it appeared so I was able to copy and paste it in.
