I'm leaving for a road trip tomorrow afternoon. I'll be leaving Denver around 4PM or so, which will put my in Co Springs around 5-ish. I'm heading South on I-25. Is there any route around Co Springs that would be better than going straight down 25, or am I basically doomed to hit the traffic?
I'm almost considering just leaving Denver later, figuring my time to Raton will be about the same as sitting in traffic.
Plan "B" is to make "account calls" in the Springs around lunchtime, and leaving directly from there..........

its typically easier to go south in the afternoon than it is going north...
But then again thats only till Hwy24...
I would just stop at the north end of the springs when you get here and grab some dinner. It will be clear around 5:45 - 6

Running through the springs will not be too bad. We do it on a regular basis. The construction is almost done.

I drive south bound everyday after 4:30 and it's clear 3 lanes all the way til Bijou that's the only place it gets backed up and it's usually not that bad, just a slowing in traffic...
Just watch the traffic display boards in the median they will let you know if it's backed up or not. But you should be good to go! Have fun!

Paving going on South from MLK Bypass exit down to Circle Drive could cause some problems
