Clint

BlueXJ, 89minitruck, Colorado Cruiser, Steve, and myself wandered up Billings today and it was an eventful afternoon. Lots of good wheelin, 89minitruck put it on its side, Steve broke a shaft, Colorado Cruiser lost a tranny at the end of the trail, and I lost a rear axle seal and an inner bead...

Not sure. I had to tow Chris off the trail from the last waterfall back to his trailer. We probably got to the end of the trail between 6 and 6:30. By the time we put my spare on Clint's rig and got his loaded it had to be 7:30. Didn't get home until ~9:30. I hate being "that guy" on the trail, but since that's the first real breakage I've had in 5 or 6 years I can't complain too much. I'm just glad the stock EB spare shaft held up driving up some of the more technical parts of the trail. I kept expecting it to grenade.
Long day, but fun as always.

AJ - How does the REMOTE / WIRELESS O2 sensor work for you. I have done some research and haven't found a supplier - You should patten (spelling?) that. Do you have a schematic?

I picked too high a line... tried to slide down the ledge into the spot I wanted and it kept climbing. I'm rusty... it's been 4 monthes... thinking more about the rig then where I should be. That was the only real issue I had all day so all-in-all, I was loving life... and I didn't break anything!!! :D
Oh and we forgot to mention that Clint dented up Blingo (my name for his Blingy Bronco)... It made me sad... and then he came about an inch from crushing in the other side at the tabletop. His new ram worked stellar though...

I can get you one for $19.95. I think I have 3 more... I lost the O2 sensor on that side and Mike Boyle said, don't forget to plug that. I forgot... and that bolt happened to fit. I would note that I POINTED IT out to the group... no love...
And WTF... the guy with no wheeln rig is giving me grief??!

 I never said that. Wish you were there though. It was the first time a jeep as been out numbered on the trail. I saw two more Broncos loading on trailers at the trail head when I was leaving. That would make 4 EB that ran Billings that day.

That's not nice... funny, but not nice. :D
We put a gun to Steve's head... he HAD to go.
OH, we left out that this group of guys came up behind us, Steve broke (once every 7 years, he's was due)... we, being nice guys, let them go by and then they BROKE... nice... we get Steve fixed up and we have to wait for them to weld up their crap so we can go. We listened to the Broncos suck hind titty while we waited. It was a good time hanging out with the boys...
...and then we scrambled off the trail only to have Chris thrash his tranny after he completed the last obstacle. Clint blows a bead going on the trailer and smashes up his fender on the trailer. It was quite a happening for sure....
IT WAS AWESOME... let's do it again REAL soon. I wish I could go this weekend...

Yeah, like I need more to do. The kids' YJ is already taking half of the garage until I finish it. The dent on Blingo is gonna have to wait until next year, and I'm ordering new alloy front shafts & u-joints for mine today. It's only $$$. ;) At least swapping those out is quick.

Since its only $$$, why not go 1 ton and be done with it? :D You know you want to.

Neither option is cheap, but the 1 ton option is significantly more. Maybe someday Lee, but I can have new shafts in it in a couple of hours max. Putting 1 tons under it will take just a tad longer.

what safts did you go with? and who's hoops are you running in the front?
Steve

what safts did you go with? and who's hoops are you running in the front?
Yukon 4340 shafts and Yukon super joints. As long as you run them together they have a lifetime warranty - and it doesn't matter whether the u-joint breaks and takes out the shafts or vice versa.
The hoops are Wild Horses Extreme front shock hoops.
