Watermarks

I didn't wanna hijack my own thread so i started another...I want to do a transparent/lucent watermark. I can't figure it out in PS CS. How do I do it? I've used 3-4 different temporary ones and its time I make a good one and stick with it...gotta figure this part out first b4 i get started.

start with a transparent background...create your type using a gradient color (grey, black, white...whatever) and then in your type layer take the opacity of that layer down...50% is a good spot to start at.

Save the file as a .png and then create an action that applies the png as a layer to your photos.
