I have a slumping driveway slab that needs lifting. Does anyone know if they rent out the pumps/jacks so I can do it my self or does anyone have any good ideas for me? I have access to only one side of the slab but it's the side that needs to be moved up about 2 inches.

We had that done at my parent's house a month or so ago. Access isn't really needed to the side of the slab since you can use a hammer drill and a huge concrete bit to drill a couple holes in the slab you need to raise. I'm no help on the rental issue...just had the guys who do it for a living come do it while I watched.

tmorgan,
Do you what that cost for what was done.

I'm waiting for answers to this one also. I have a similar problem - a porch and sidewalk that need to be lifted or otherwise corrected.

I'm thinking I might be able to dig out a bit on the side and use a couple farm jacks to lift it a little bit, but I'm not to sure as to what I should put under it as far as sand or rock

Not sure what my dad paid to have it done. I'll try and remember to ask him in the next day or two.

Really wet concrete that will flow and fill the void.
