Keep your fists up, never stop fighting. There are so many other things that take part in moments like these that aren't listed in the medical books. Doctors don't know everything, and they're not always right. Prove 'em wrong!

And a reminder that we should all be on the bone marrow list. I did it several months ago and its SO easy. You can order the kit online, they send it right to you. Four swabs on the inside of your cheek and mail it back to them. Not much effort to save a life.

http://www.marrow.org/x2 - Wha? Can't get on the list because of my back problems? Not sure why something that can be so life-saving is costly to get on the list to help either. Wierd.

I can say this positive mental attitude can and does help. My Mom's going through lymphoma right now and she's got the attitude that the disease can't get the best of her. She's halfway through chemo and it hasn't got to her yet. Yes she has up days and down, but she's fighting like hell. She's 64 and is constantly suprising us with her foritude.
I can't imagine what's going through you mind, but you got lots here pulling for you, my family included. We'll keep the postive thoughts flowing your way!

My grandfather is 82 and fighting through lung cancer right now. he has amazed the docs with his attitude and strong intestinal fortitude. Be strong as well, we will keep you in our prayers.

John,
Keep the positive thoughts rolling, nothing is terminal until your dead, and even then that's questionable in my book. Like Wally said and all have expressed, you have the entire board's support. Keep us (the board) up to date please and let us know if you need anything.

Totally agree with Val on this. Sometimes they just dont really know the right answer. Doctors told my family that my aunt wasnt goin to make it after a major heart attack and that they advised us to take her off life support. They took her off life support and the next day she woke up laughin to the jokes that a friend was telling her. Shes fully recovered and you cant even tell. You can make it! Its amazing how just thinking positive can help your own body heal. Hang in there! We are all praying for you! :)

Prayers, bro.
Fight it hard. Many people with "terminal" cancer end up surviving it.
My wife and I are looking into registering as possible donors. I have a question about the restriction on herniated or slipped discs - it says people with those conditions will not be allowed to donate. Anyone know why? I thought they basically drilled into your pelvis. What's the spine got to do with it unless they're doing some kind of epidural or spinal block?? Nahhh I thought they did it under local anesthetic.
Someone educate me.

I wish you the best of success and fortitude. I lost my father Sep 16, 2006 to a 12 1/2 year war with prostate cancer. I say war as he actually won many battles along the way; however, ultimately he lost the war. When he was diagnosed, he was given 6 yrs or so. According to the doctors, his positive attitude, willingness to "give it a shot", and personal strength helped him hold on so long. You too can hold on. Also, as much as you and your family can, do your own research. The internet has a ton of info and testimonials of things that you may be able to do on your own, such as proper diet, etc.
I wish you well with this. And remember, do those things you always wanted to do and do you best to not have any regrets.

Like everyone says, fight the good fight. Stranger things than beating cancer have happened.
My good friend from grade school got diagnosed with Hodgkins (spelling?) Lymphoma about 8 years ago (so he was 23 at the time.) Prognosis was not that good. He had it in his lungs, and a few other places. Long story short he survived it. He went on to finish med school and is a doctor now.
The best of luck to you.
