It was a beautiful day.

8 rigs, 7 from the Colorado Go4s, one visitor, Zero from CO4x4.

Actually, the trash was reduced this Fall for a change! That was a welcome change. There is still a riding lawn mower down Crow gulch a ways.

The water bars on the down-hill side were in bad shape. We spent a bit of time working on them. 2 had to be reconstructed from scratch.

On the downhill side, the muddy area near the campground in the meadow is now blocked fairly significatnly with deadfall. Hopefully that will let folks know that it isn't the right place to go.

There is a new muddy area on the downhill side near the hill climb. We will have to address that next year.

Between the top of the hillclimb and the exit, an odd hole that has been there for years has gotten a bit deeper. it's clear folks have not been treading lightly. This has spawned a go-around. We block the go-around with significant deadfall. Hopefully that will help folks stay on the trail.

We added more rock to the area between the start and end of Slaughterhouse loop which is located on Crow Gulch. This is the area several folks helped work on in the Spring. it needs more rock yet again. The go-around was being used again. That is NOT good.

Folks, please tread lightly.

Please stay ON THE TRAIL.

If it looks like a mud hole is forming, that doesn't mean go for more wheel spin. Go for NO wheel spin. preserve the road bed.

If your vehicle isn't up to the trail, don't go on the trail, or turn around. Don't go "just go around".

There are likely some changes coming from the USFS in how they manage the area. I'm working with them to try to keep the trail open and accessible. I do expect some change during Spring runoff. If you have questions about the USFS intentions, you'll need to talk to them.

It's possible that this trail should increase from a 4 to a 5 rating. IMO, the hillclimb has gotten more challenging and some of the little single obstacles are a bit more challenging with a little more clearance required.
