I did Kelly flats today, First time ever. Hard to believe consider I have been wheelin Colorado for over 6 years.

First off, 4x4trailnet is a little off. It says 25 miles from Ft Collins, but it really is 25 miles from the intersection of 287 and 14 about 10 miles north of town.

I stopped a little before the trail head: The trail head is actually just past Kelly Flats campground.

Sucks about the tire and wheel, looks like you had a nice run otherwise!

What do you think, is that trail worth the drive from Denver for a built rig? I've never done it either.

The chutes is a fun little obstacle. I managed to just squeeze through but it looks like you had even more fun with your vehicle's width.

If you are on full widths,I think its fun obstacle. With a toy or narrow Jeep I think you could drive through. What I would do if I do it again would be do the trail, including Pingreen hill, then turn around, and do theChutes again onthe way back (they have a bypass) and maybe Heart Attack Hill twice too. The forest road out and 5 mile of highway not too exciting.

Now worries on the tire. Sears plugged it for me! I did have to take apart the beadlock and such, but its back together. Wheel is tore up but still ok for a spare... Someday I will get another beadlock for a matching spare.

I saw you driving up there this morning. I almost wrecked trying to look at your rig on the trailer as I was headed south on I-25. I had no idea what it was. Glad you had fun.

Did Flashover join you?? The chutes look tight for a full size! Nice pictures.

We were there, although unsuccessful. I have a major transmission issue, I think. The buggy runs and drives great on flat ground, or down hill, but slat out refuses to go up hill. Oh well. I have been busting my butt a little too hard the last couple of weeks, so I am going to take a couple of days off before trying to figure out the issue.

We did run the loop of Heart Attack Hill and down the bypass in Joel's XJ since we were up there. Good times, just not with the buggy.

Its supposed to be bent... it clears the other assorted linkage.

Wheel is no big deal, cheap stocker....

What about the tire? Is it under warranty? I had one happen like that too, but it was a far less expensive street tire.

Warranty? I don't think I have anything with warranty.

Its just a hole. Plugged it like any other tire. Is not in the sidewall or anything.

Oh, looked too big to plug, but glad you were able to. My hole from the stick was just above the tread in a sidewall. I was only a few miles from home, so I husted home so I could change the tire in the garage.

Is it the camera angle or is your trailer 40' long?

34' deck, ~ 4' tongue, so I am guessing 38'? (it certainly takesmost of my 40' storage lot)

Two car hauler, works pretty darn well.
