Today's trip was Kingston Peak - a mellow ride with great views! This was probably my 15th time over since 2003. Mother Nature only played nice for a little while. After the first rain shower, she dangled the carrot once again, only to jerk it away. A lot has changed on KP. There are private property signs everywhere, a new post and peg fence, and a whole bunch of carsonites. (but without this stuff, ppl would be all willy nilly up there) My favorite climb has been narrowed down to one line too. After the climb, I ran into the tail end of a Toyota convoy. They didn't waste any time getting down... The "Stone House" is still going strong. I added another rock to the pile. Just past the Bristlecone Pine area, it began to hail like crazy! Glad I was almost done. Before I headed home, I ran up Oh My God road to Central City. I should have taken highway 70 home - C.C. kept more of my car wash money...

I'm heading up a Dodge run up Kingston on 9/22/07 if anybody with a Ram truck or Ramcharger/Dakota/Durango etc.. is interested. It is posted on the "Staging area" thread.
Looks like some much needed trail work has been done up there before it got out of hand. There were numerous "lines" up that section you are talking about. Not because it is particularly hard, but the trail gets a lot of use from stock trucks and newbies to 4-wheeling that don't know about "Treading Lightly". That and there is a bunch of bordering private property.

Anyone find a cell phone up there? I lost mine on that trail 2 weeks ago AND HAVE BEEN LOST WITHOUT IT.

Chad and I met this caravan of Toys heading up and we were heading down... What we didn't understand was that there was a single lone Rubicon along with all of the Toys.... :)
Here is a link to some more photos from Kingston that day...

We saw a guy doing that trail coming from the Alice side in a honda cr-v when we were there a few weeks ago
Wonder if my 'ghetto rock" is still in the same place at the rock house  Couldnt find my last rock I put there.

I noticed the Jeep about 9th in line, just ahead of the dark silver 4Runner.

The last time I was up that way an Audi A4 followed me up over Mammoth Gulch towards Apex. When he got to that small water crossing (just above Apex) he chickened out and went back.
Every time I go to the stone house I can never find the rocks I've left.... Somebody will probably chuck my new one over the edge...
