So, Im in Leadville just staying the night, on our way to Denver. Looking to get off the beaten path a bit on the way for the Bronco game. Im thinking County Road 3 from Leadville to Alma looks like a nice change of pace and good way to get off the highway.
Anybody been on this road, is it suitable for my crewcab F250? Lemme know, gonna leave out of leadville tomorrow around 10-11 am..

After looking, it looks like this is Mosquito Pass, and looks doable in a Fullsize rig. Is it well marked? Looks like there are a lot of little roads up there :)

It's not too hard to find your way up there. Just drive on the trail that looks the most used.

Go east on 7th Street and follow the road thru the historic mining district to the Diamond Mine. It's just a gravel road to that point. After that it gets rougher and narrower but you should be OK as long as you take it easy and don't try to pass anyone except at the swithbacks which are wider and have passing space. The east side of the pass is rougher but wider.
