I went Thurs night last year, and it was great. I'm going to have to see about getting the time off this year (my schedule is Wed to Sat 4 pm to 2 am), but if I can I'll probably do Thurs again this year.

For anybody that's interested....The world brewers forum is also on Thursday evening. It a free event put on by a local homebrew club.

The speakers are usually very good and they have free homebrew (warning: can be good or bad)

I'll be there Friday night with all the other drunken idiots. :drunk2:
I've been to the connoisseur's session in past years, and found that I really prefer the high energy atmosphere of the Friday or Saturday night sessions. This will be my thirteenth year attending.

Just bought my tixs to Saturday day session, hoping my friends in the Biz have extra passes for Saturday night. That would be cool.

I picked up my ticket at Old C's today for the Thursday session. Went in with some freinds and pitched on a hotel room 2 blocks away too. Should be sweet.

You can usually buy them out front, right before the doors open, from cops posing as scalpers. Be sure you only offer to pay face value. Make an offer above or below face value and you're busted!

How is it illegal to offer to pay over or under face value for a ticket?
I understand that selling them over face value is illegal (sort of but not really).

Whenever I go to sporting events and the scalpers are out working, I like to go to the ones yelling "I need tickets" and point them down to a fellow scalper working the "I've got tickets" angle.
They never really seem to appreciate my help. http://home.comcast.net/~JSchwiesow/jump.gif

Going Saturday. Have a planned route of brewers for the first hour-two, after the palate is destroyed any booth that is in distance.

I don't really know. We used to always just buy tickets at the door, but then one year we showed up and they were sold out. The event has been sold out every year since. How things have changed. Back then, we didn't have to wait in a line to get in, they handed out tasting glasses made of real glass, and the ticket price was only $25.00.
Anyhow, I was kind of paniced about what to do, and one of the guys with us who's father and brother are policemen told me to get them from the "scalpers" over by the street. He gave me the rundown on the "sting", so I offered face value and the guy looked really disappointed and said okay. Then I noticed other people being led away after talking to the cops posing as scalpers. There were also random dudes walking through the crowd warning people that the sellers were cops.
I can only guess they're busting people who are profiting from the re-sale of tickets. Be it the seller or the buyer.

But how is a buyer paying MORE than face value profitting?
Interesting none-the-less. I already passed this little piece of intel on.

I just checked the website, and all 4 sessions are officially sold out. No surprise there, but I figured I'd toss it out there anyway.

I saw plenty of tickets to be had outside the door.
