41-year-old man built a guillotine, then killed himself with it. (http://www.clickondetroit.com/news/14099445/detail.html)

That is one VERY bizarre way of committing suicide!

Uh, I appreciate the engineering and effort that went into the design?

The guy clearly wasn't thinking along the lines of the ?norm,? so why does this really surprise anyone?

This guy gets a  for killing himself in a cool, entertaining way.

If you're gonna go out, ask yourself this question: why not a guillotine? :D

It's stories like that that make me miss watching the 11:00 news out in Detroit. If you want action and mayhem, they've got it.

That being said, at least he was smart enough to get it right the first time. Can you imagine if it didn't work right? "Hey- A little help here? Grab that rope for me..."

Dude down here in The Rock wrapped a cable around a pole, and the other end around his neck. Got in the truck, hit the gas....and popped that sucker clean off. :barf: I have to admit he was serious about it, but dayummm that's a nasty way to do it.

I guess that's one way to look at it.

Sad to see that. Dude had a good head on his shoulders.

Scary thing is, he was likely conscious for some time, maybe 30 seconds after the head was severed.

Wonder what the thought process is during that time between decapitation and death.............

Probably nothing to lose your head over.......

This made me chuckle:

"I can't even tell you how long it must have taken him to construct," he said. "This man obviously was very determined to end his life."

Hey...let's all be thankful he built it for himself, and only himself. I can see someone off their rocker saying, "Well...looks good, but I reckon she needs a trial run..."

Sad though. Tough gig when some people decide things are too much and do the official "signing off".
