I got a little agressive trimming trees last weekend, and have a bunch of branches to get rid of. Is there anywhere that will take these for free, or am I stuck paying a lot of $$$ per pickup load at the dump? TIA.....Josh.

You can take them to Jenson's on Santa Fe and C-470 for $8 a yard. PM me if your interested (you just can't drive up and dump them, you need to have an account)

I dont know about lakewood, but Boulder and Broomfield have recycle centers that accept yard waste. Not giant tree trunk stuff but branches and whatnot

That sucks, the landfill out here lets you dump leaves/branches/tree stuff/grass for free, then the compost it and sell it back to the public for fairly cheap...

We did some tree trimming at the GFs house in Englewood and all we had to do was cut the branches to 3' or smaller and put them in the trash bucket.

If you have a chainsaw I think you should cut it into fireplace-sized logs and list it for free on craigslist. I swear you could get rid of your garbage on CL. There are people out there who will take anything if you tell them it's "free."

Think of renting a wood chipper? Cheap and you can use the chips to soak up oil spills, or throw into your garden for compost. Just a thought.

I just put 'em at the curb with the garbage cans, and they go away.

x2. I try to bundle them with string if I can, but WM has never refused any of my refuse. :D

If it's a whole lot of stuff you could try setting it out in batches. Might take a couple months to get rid of it all but it'd be at no extra cost (YMMV)

Not sure about Denver but there's a place in Black Forest (northeast of the Springs) that takes the stuff for free. They chip it and you can take away some mulch with every load.

I believe in Denver you can do bundles that can't be longer than 4' and weigh no more than 50 lbs. We put bundles by the trash all the time and they always take it.
