Scott Martin Weigand is charged with lewd and lascivious behavior at local community pools.

Scott Martin Weigand had a very creepy habit, Pinellas County sheriff's officials say.
Weigand, 42, of Largo would go to locker rooms at community swimming pools, attach a large artificial penis to his own sexual organs and wrap a towel around himself, officials said Tuesday. Then he would pretend to walk to or from the shower. When he saw a young adolescent boy he liked, he would unwrap the towel and expose himself, officials said.
And he would record his crimes on a small video camera he had stashed in a gym bag, according to sheriff's detectives.
They said Weigand frequented the Golda Meir/Kent Jewish Center at 2010 Greenbriar Blvd. in Clearwater and the Clearwater YMCA at 1005 S Highland Ave.
After a monthlong investigation, Weigand was arrested after he tried to enter the Clearwater YMCA and booked into the Pinellas County Jail on three counts of lewd and lascivious exhibition. He was being held Tuesday night in lieu of $60,000 bail.
Weigand, who lives at the Sunbeam Motel, 164 Clearwater-Largo Road, works at the Wal-Mart on Missouri Avenue in Largo, said sheriff's spokeswoman Marianne Pasha. He has no previous criminal record in Pinellas County.
Detectives are concerned that there are more victims. Investigators believe Weigand sometimes would vary his routine and expose himself in fast food restrooms or other public bathrooms.
Pasha would not divulge how the Sheriff's Office was tipped off about the case.
Brian Kridler, district vice president for the YMCA of the Suncoast, Clearwater Region, said detectives told him that none of the incidents happened at the YMCA on Highland Avenue.
In fact, he said YMCA staff members blocked Weigand from coming in and turned him away just before he was arrested at the facility.
"He was in and inquiring about what our guest policy was," Kridler said.
