congrats man. I just started riding after a 10 year lapse. Got a cbr954 in July. Yeah, I was scared shotless too, but 1100 miles later, it's all good ;) Makes me wonder what took so long to get back on.

When I got it, my fiancee text'd a friend with what I got. The only reply back from him?

"options"

Yeah, I've already spent about $2000 in upgrades on it at this point in my head. Just can't wait to get the next 250 miles over and done with to get it above 6-7k and stop getting a mere taste of the power available...

Anywho, as i was saying...screw that!! Ride it easy the first couple miles and FLOG IT!! I rode my 600rr hard from the first day i bought it and it still dyno'ed more than 5 other of the exact same bikes on the same dyno! Its not a motor your gonna be putting hundreds of thousands of miles on and its actually been shown that motors that are ran hard from the start can actually make more power than ones that were babied.

Yeah, I wouldn't worry about the break in procedure. Just make sure you change the oil at 300-600 miles.....and get on advrider! Trust me, great moto forum. Lots of fun events all around the country all year long. I may be hosting one next summer in the Sandhills of Nebraska. Also look for "West Fest" for next year. I heard it may be in Colorado. That's the biggest and most fun of all the Advenrure Rider rally's.

...just signed up on advrider.com as the same username.

Had no idea of the size of the community. Thought that stromtrooper.com was all there way, eh?

Still just shy of 600 miles, rode it in today, still wet, still grinning from ear to ear.

Inseam...? Dunno. I do know that I'm 5'8" and that I'm on the tips of my toes when stopped. Not uncomfortably so, but nothing like a cruiser.

My fianc? hopped on it the other day - she's 5'6"ish and could comfortably hold it up the same way - tips of toes, not flat-footed. But she's alllllllllllllll legs.

Thank god. :D

As for reach and roominess, it seems long. Definitely not reaching too far forward for the bars, although a lot of people install ATV bars on Wee's to pull the grips back a little. Might be doing that myself, as my shoulders can get a little tired after 100 miles or so.
