and you were on a mission to pick a long passed away(or any other) singer/musician to do an "Unplugged" album, who would it be?
i think a barstool,an acoustic guitar and Elvis could be interesting.
Joe Satriani would still be mind blowing....
and of course Hendrix.............

yep....the sky is crying kinda did that, but would still be awesome.it is funny, his early stuff on the first album is raw and edgy and unpolished, and his later stuff still has that roughness to it.i love that.

Hands down, as far as the rock genre, would be Frank Zappa.

I'd want to live from 1950's to the 1970's when I was conspired.
Elvis, Lynyrd Skynyrd (original members), Hendrix, Johnny Cash also Ray Charles & Muddy Waters. They ALL would be on the top of the list.
EDIT: Add Jerry Garcia, John Lee Hooker, Janis Joplin, Dusty Springfield, Billy Joel (during the booze, Glass Houses & pre albums) & Eric Clapton.

I couldn't even begin to imagine how great a Marley show would have been. I have some live recordings, and they give me chills.
My shop teacher in junior high in Boulder saw The Doors perform live at Balch Fieldhouse on the CU campus back in the day. How's that for cool?

John Bonham (Led Zepplin) as drummer
Dimebag Darrell (Pantera) as guitarist on a 12 string
John Lennon (Beatles/Solo) as singer
That could be very cool.

Go back to 1968 and save Roger Keith Barrett - get him away from the hallucinogens before they "tattered his brain all the way". Give Hendrix my seat for the ride back. Hrmm... what would happen if Hendrix and Eric Tessmer were to exist at the same time?

Lotta good names mentioned. I'm a sucker for good piano, no matter what the genre, so I'd probably pick someone like Rachmaninoff or Chopin. If I didn't have to pick just one, maybe expand to more recent pianists like Eubie Blake or Ruben Gonzalez.
