So my beloved Buffs may not have their best team ever this year, but Ralphie is still tops in the country. :flipoff2: And yes, THEY WILL BEAT CSU!!!

College Football's Top 25 Mascots , as rated by college football news.
1. Colorado - Ralphie
Some mascots are cute, some mascots are funny, and some symbols get the crowd roaring. Colorado's Ralphie the Buffalo is the most intimidating and the one that inspires the most awe from fans and foes alike. Just before the start of the game and before the second half, a 1,100 to 1,300-pound buffalo leads the team onto the field in a semi-controlled 20-to-25 mile per hour sprint. The animal has handlers who hang on for dear life and try to keep it somewhat contained, and while it could probably tear off and do whatever it wanted if it was inclined to do so, there's never been a problem. Five sophomores take it on a run just before going onto the field just to make sure it's a little bit cashed.

Wareagle #4 and the team doesnt blow :)
Auburn's nickname is the Tigers, but the battle cry is "War Eagle" as a majestic eagle soars onto the field before each home game. To make things even more confusing, the actual eagle that's used is War Eagle VI, but its name is Tiger. Lost yet? How about this? Auburn's mascot, technically, is Aubie, a costumed tiger. To take it one step further, the eagle doesn't even belong to Auburn, since federal law doesn't allow anyone to own a bird of prey. Technically, Auburn's main symbol belongs to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, although the Alpha Phi Omega Fraternity takes care of it. The legend, true or not, is that a confederate soldier, lying wounded on the battlefield, could see only two living things, himself and a baby eagle. He took the eagle with him when he went back to school at Auburn, where he became part of the faculty. In the school's first meeting with Georgia in 1892, after Auburn scored its first touchdown, the eagle broke free, flew around the field, and later died having done its part giving everything it had in the 10-0 win.

Well, since it is in Alabama, I'd expect some confusion. But the SEC is where the real football is played, regardless of what anyone says.
My Mom, Dad, and both my Uncles all went to Rockytop U! I have a little Vols pride in me- they're #2 only behind my Buffs. Nothing like 106,000 screaming fans singing Rockytop on a Saturday in Knoxville. It'll give you chills.

The poll is obviously whacko when the LSU tiger is ranked behind the Stanford tree. I'm not a fan of either, but a tree? WTF?

If you are a fan of the Colorado Golden Buffaloes, this will absolutely give you chills.
I'll never forget the trip we made my senior year to Norman, OK, where we sat in the corner of the endzone, and just as Darian Hagan was getting tackled, he pitched OVER the OU linebacker, right into the hands of JJ Flanagan for the score. Final: CU 20 OU 10

Or Michigan- 5 seconds to go, Stewart fades back, sheds the rush, steps up, 65 yards in the air to Westbrook for the touchdown and the win! Buffs win, Buffs win!

Much better. Now they just need to return to the greatness that was Dr. Tom.
I've got a good friend who played under Dr. Tom. He has very interesting commentary. He once told me- "make no mistake, we were at NU to play football, period, nothing else." It was pretty cool the way he said it, with total respect for Dr. Tom's way of doing things.
God, they were a machine back in the day. Rumor has it they might be pretty decent this year.

Well...it's half-time and I'm not too happy with our offense. Basically...THEY SUCK!!!!!!! Our D is still GREAT, but we now have a "run happy" QB. We've intercepted MState 4 times and counting, but we're not doing much of a job capitalizing! Our D can hang with any team, but our offense can't score enough to make us competitive with most of the top 20 teams! Not a good scenario!!! I hope things improve before the Vtech game next week! If not, we're SCREWED!!! Anyway...the score is 17-0 LSU at the half and I'm hoping for atleast 20 to 30 more points on our side before the end. Wish us luck!

I dont think you will find any of us Huskers that really cared about the loss this year. For us it was the nail in the coffin for Callahan (hopefully). I will have to admit that CU will be getting better over the next couple of years with Hawkins as Coach and Hawkins as QB. Cant wait till both teams are fully legit again and National Champ contenders, it will make it that much better when Neb wins!!
