Stop the kids from playing any sort of game that may hurt them, don't let them drink out of a hose, make sure that they don't get exposed to any sort of germs.... (that list of crap can go on for days)
What is their generation going to be like as adults...

I heard this on the radio driving home yesterday... and I was like WTF??? But at least now I know what schools my son is not going to attend!
I won't contribute to a generation of "warning label" kids....

LOL, it is probably in response to some asshat parent who sued (or threatened to) the school because their kid fell down, or wasn't part of the game.
Why even allow them to walk? They can still fall down or bump into each other.

I dunno about you guys but we used to play smear the queer and all sorts of other games. Never caused any serious problems as far as I'm concerned. People these days are driving me nuts

These *issues* are raised by whiny-a*s parents who are upset that their kid isnt the fastest/smartest/whatever kid at school. He/she came home whining about losing, and since they indulge the kid, give him everything he wants, tell him how good he is, how can they let this happen? They go after the school instead of sitting whiny son down and telling him the truth about life.
This is generation Puss, created by touchy feely parents.

My kids go to a country school whereby someone that brings this kinda shit up gets ran out of the county. Last year I took some cupcakes to my daughters class for her Birthday and a parent was tehre and said I wish you had broguht fruit we dont allow our child to eat cake and sugar frosting.
I told her "well we do" and the teacher laughed >::P

I broke my collarbone playing trip tag in front of my house when I was in 2nd grade. Heck my mom didn't belive I broke anything and didn't take me into the doctor until the next day. Did I die from it? NO. Did it make me realize I better be quicker on my feet? Yes.
Sure we got skinned up on recess. I remember a couple of broken arms/legs from the swingsets but they never took the swingset away. What a bunch of pansys up there. If tag is out then, I guess touch football on recess is out too since they would have to be chased to be touched. Kickball/baseball since the base runner might be chased to a base is out too. Hide and go seek is done too since you might get chased back to home base. What a shame to not let kids be kids.

I had a parent call me the day after the CU stabbing concerned about her daughter attending the school. She wanted to know why her daughter hadn't heard what was going on. I asked if her daughter had signed up for the emergency text-messaging system (put in place after the VA Tech. tragedy). After about 3 seconds of silence, I heard "Look. I don't want to hear about text-messaging> I want to know how my daughter can find out about these type of things." I quickly transfered her to the Chancellor's office. It was apparent she didn't want her questions answered. She wanted to know how everyone but herself and her daughter would be responsible for her daughter's safety.

How much mental anguish will that cause him for the rest of his pitiful life....
"Oh, it's It. I remember you from elementary school 32 years ago....you were It then, you're It now, and you always will be It!!!"

Can someone please play devils advocate and explain the benefits of this? I mean really I see no good that can come of it other than the school putting itself in less of a position to be sued. Other than that I don't get it.

if kids get hurt, considering their parents probably are too cheap to provide health insurance for them, they go to the hospital and it comes out of our tax dollars... no? yeah, you got me then. this is BS. as long as no one got a concussion, we were allowed to do whatever we wanted at recess.
and when the hell did every child become allergic to peanuts?

I was hoping the little :tisk: guy would convey a hint of sarcasum. I was trying for a :ROTFL: icon.
I all most fell outa my truck when my son said they were playing "Cream the guy with the football" I decided not to tell him of smeer the queer because I did not want him kicked out of 4th grade for making "them" feel bad. You know one of his friends might have 2 Dads, And that is suposed to be as normal as Leave it to Beaver now. Oh but we can not have Beaver either. (DAMN)

This is my daughter in Tucson. Picked a fight with her BF's Ex, then they went at it and got kicked out for 5 days. She is in a world of hurt now. She picked the fight by calling the other gilr a WH***. Oh how our sweet little girls grow up into white trash hussies with foul mouths.

Some lady came up to me while wating for my son to come out of kindergarden today and asked me to sign a petition to get the kindergarders snack time. The F%&$ing class is 3 hours long. Give the kid breakfast and then he is home for lunch. She did not like my response. I wanted to tell her that if she layed off the snacks maybe she would not have such a fat ass.

yikes. girl vs. girl fights always seem more vicious and scary... at least guys just punch until one gives up or can't fight anymore... but girls,

Nothing like raising a generation of even bigger wimps. Smear the queer, fights at lunch behind the school. No suspension. You fight and then your done. No one dies. no one had a gun, no one had a knife. Just duke it out and get it over with. No wonder kids are frustrated they cajn't be kids. Lets send them to school in sumo suit. They won't get hurt and will all look alike. No more pick on the fat kid???????????????? WTH is wrong with people these days:shrug:

I am sorry, but I couldn't even finish reading this, before I was angry. I understand that if my daughter came home and said that a boy was grabbing her ass and wouldn't quit, that I would be a little upset and would kindly ask her to kick the boy in the nuts :flipoff2: as hard as she could.
 I found out the other day that if one of my children is being harrassed in class and my child was to complain that both children would be suspended. The school said that they are no longer going to accept responsability for the childrens actions against them selves. This is :flipoff2:  :flipoff2:  . This makes me think that if a child of mine is being bullied I am going to tell them that they are going to be suspended either way and the second they are threatened (spelling?, trust me I will teach them what threatened means, not just scared but actually attacked) to knock the SOB square in the jaw, nuts, stomach as hard as they can. This is all the more reason my children are involved in Martial Arts. I make sure that I spend plenty of time Kickboxing with both of my kids and as soon as they are old enough, they are going to join.
I fawking hate the public school system.    :flipoff2: :flipoff2: :flipoff2: :flipoff2: FAWK THIS CHIT FAWK THIS CHIT

First take a deep breath.....
Now realize that not all public schools are full of wacked out nutjobs that couldn't survive 1 day in the non tenured society known as the "Real World"
I selected where I live based in a large part by how I feel their school handles issues. In my view our school allows children to be children.

Actually, what I think is funny is that banning tag will probably result in more of the behavior that caused it to be banned in the first place. It just won't manifest as tag per se. Why is that? Humans are humans regardless of rules. If the kids are wussies it's most likely not because tag was banned but because their parents made them that way. What's a bit concerning is that this tag was actually banned because someone thought it would change things.
