Well, the stroker in the XJ is running pretty damn good so I figured I might as well go for it. I'll be up there monday all day so if you're going look for me.
It's my '91 red 4dr XJ, roof rack/ bumpers, no fender flares, and some "custom fender work" (for those of you who weren't at three jacks that night).
I have no idea how fast she'll run but we'll find out.

Did you add some casters to the roof rack this time?

Nope, but I did spray paint over the rust so now it's solid, lol

Only one reply, and it's word for word what I was gonna say.

I'm not sure if going to the high school drags would be worth it just to find out how slow it is on the track. That day will be PACKED with kids. You'll be lucky to pull two time runs before the first round of elimnations. You will go right into the first round and most likely loose if you've never done it before. So you will pay your money to get 3 runs, sit in lines all day and get roasted in the sun.
If you want a suggestion, check the schedule and see if they have a regular friday night race this week. They have a high school class then too. You will be there with less people than the mass of highschoolers. Meaning you should get three time runs before the first round. When I was up there every friday if it wasn't busy, I could get 4-6 time runs in if I hot-lapped it.
It's just a waste just to try racing for the first time during the big high school races on memorial day or labor day weekends.
Keep this in mind though. Either day you choose to run, your rig HAS to pass tech inspection. No missing lug studs, operational coolent overflow, seat belts, no major leaks, ect. For the most part it's a general safety inspection, but they won't let you run if your stuff looks unsafe. They don't screw around. They gave me grief for a extra couple of inches of rubber hose for a fuel line on my Nova. Look at thier website for the tech specs for cars 12.0 seconds and slower.

Ditto...
If you want to get some runs in Wednesday test'n tunes are good, myself and Scott91MJ showed to one a few weeks ago. After the rain stopped I ended up getting 6 passes in that night. 4:30-9. Throw it in Staging Area and maybe some more Jeeps or other brand-x forum rides would show up, I definitely would.
Oh, and wear long pants, I saw way too many guys get owned on that rule last weekend!

Whoops you will only ever get 2 time trials. Friday night ET Series is a very full event and we are in a huge time crunch and you wont get any more than 2 time trail runs before first round.
The only exception is the first 4 people in line, for the very first runs down the track, at the start of the event. But do not count on this.
